After five or six years, Chez Jessica's DH has a garden
Comments (39)Holy smokes, Jess, I'm glad I checked in again. You look like a little garden gnome among the giant plants. Looks like you will be all set for Halloween. I will have to post a picture of my one and only tomato plant. Poor thing. It has three tomatoes on it. One the size of a marble and two ping pong balls....See More?Roaster? Comments (14)A reminder that the Nesco does a wonderful roast chicken, or two if you get the larger roaster. I have a 6 qt. Nesco and fix the delicious Sticky Chicken in mine often: Roast Sticky Chicken 3 pounds whole chicken 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon paprika 3/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon thyme 1/4 teaspoon white pepper 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder 1/4 teaspoon black pepper 1 large onion -- quartered Combine all spices together in a small bowl. Rub mixture into chicken WELL, inside & out, patting into the skin & try to make it evenly distributed. Put in a large bag & refrigerate overnight. If you don't have time for this step it will still be delicious! Just before roasting, stuff the cavity w/ onions. Roast uncovered at 250F for 5 hours. Baste often w/ pan juices until they caramelize in the pan. Chicken will turn golden brown. These freeze great and you can make several of them at one time since your oven is on for so long. This chicken is to die for and falls off the bone. For Heating: You can bring these straight from the freezer if you want. From the freezer: put in the microwave on a plate covered w/ paper towels & heat on high 5-7 minutes. Then, place in a 350* oven 15-20 minutes or until hot throughout. Or, you can thaw in the refrigerator overnight, wrap in foil and heat in a low oven for 20-30 minutes....See MoreTGIF 5/9 and a clink to Annie and Elery

Comments (75)I get that you wouldn't want to self administer ivermectin, and I wasn't suggesting that, but rather talk to the doctors about it. It has been around for 40 years and is used in humans for treatment of parasites. In fact, that's apparently what put the doctors onto it in the first place. There was a nursing home that had a problem with scabies so some of the residents were on ivermectin and others were not. The ones on it did not get covid. There have been other studies since then with positive results. I'm not trying to add more stress to an already impossible situation, only a suggestion that might be beneficial. In any case, I'm keeping you both in my thoughts during this difficult time....See More- 4 years ago
