Please join me in wishing Annie and Elery the best this weekend as they tie the knot! WE WANT PICTURES!!!!

I've been too busy to give the CF all the attention I like. We are planting our veggie garden for the first time in years. Pictures to be posted sometime soon...

Tomorrow I haul hazardous waste (dead microwave) to our city's collection site. I really need to have a separate bin for flourescent bulbs, note to self. We're going out with friends to a play tomorrow night.

Mother's Day? Of course I'll make an appetizer from Ann's book for a party we're going to (who throws non-Mother's day parties on Mother's Day? go figure). Hey Tricia its a work related party. We have to/should go. Shrug and we'll enjoy ourselves!

Cheers to everyone else! My heart and thoughts will be in Michigan tomorrow!

I can't believe the time has arrived already! Weren't those 2 lovebirds just courting? LOL. Well, da&*, congratulations and I hope you two have a wonderful wedding, weekend and life together! What a great story and I couldn't be happier for you two!

Congratulations Pat you must be so happy and so relieved. David - Happy Birthday to your Mom. Pam, I sympathize with you. The rain of yellow pollen hasn't hit here yet but our news reports say this year is going to be the worst year in a decade for allergies. We started out the day with dog school - Ollie finished advanced class a week ago and we started "Click a Trick". We don't really care about tricks but thought that just teaching him more would be good. He has learned to shake, spin around twice and finish by sitting, take a bow and the one useful trick is that we have succeeded in teaching him to chase a ball and bring it back to us - he had apparently never played in his first home. Then we went to the dog wash and left with a sweet smelling, fluffy dog. Max worked in his garden when we came home and will continue tomorrow. I don't have anything more exciting than some laundry and office work to look forward to. But I always look forward to the weekends and having Max at home. Clinking to you all with my club soda. Lee

Clinking with a Pabst Blue Ribbon. Friday was a total loss other then I took some garbage out to the road. First time I remembered in about a month... ewww stinky kitty litter. Chrysler bankrupting caused things to be ugly at work. Only a dozen people laid-off at our factory but our sister plants are in deep trouble... almost shut down. So far we turned a profit 4 out of 4 months this year! My audit team caught up three overdue audits and finished half of the audits due this month. Our managers forgot to allot hours for auditing so I put in about 20 volunteer hours this week. I asked them to pay me something for the time so next week's check should be interesting. Sort of like being on my own time as I work at my own pace in my own way and nobody can say diddly about how I'm doing things... and things are getting done. I was not feeling well this morning. Fell back asleep drinking my coffee then went back to bed until I had to go to work. Feeling much better tonight. A big chunk of smoked brisket to do something with. Dolly and I have been eating on it all week and it needs to become something else before it goes bad. Very probably going to make chili with it. Glad to see April done... trees, taxes, audits, and a boatload of overtime. Biggest tree order has yet to be paid for but I have the guys skidsteer as collateral. Tempted to gas it up and move some dirt this weekend... as an "interest" payment.... $50k toy! Ten tomato plants up and going indoors. Planted six Early Girls this week but no sprouts yet. Cayenne pepper in the window has new peppers on it already! Need to get off my lazy butt and do some mushroom hunting. Scratches and pats for all the puppy dogs! : ) lyra

TGIF my eye! It's been an unusually busy week and I'm running out of time. What's left to do? Youngest graduates from college Sunday, so I have to at least give the house a lick and a promise, shop and prepare food for Sunday's gathering; mow the lawn - I have lists within lists! It's only going to be the rest of our kids and their families, but that is 18 people in all, and some of them will spend Sat. night here. Let me brag a bit here. We are six for six in the college grad dept., and four have their masters. The fifth says she's done with school except for craft classes, and Sunday's grad (magna cum laude!) is going to loaf for a year before grad school. Our buttons are bursting, I can tell you that. Back to my list: I'm sewing a dress for #5 to wear to a wedding next weekend, but I've hit a snag and can't get back to sewing until Monday, so I'm worrying about that project. I know it'll get done and she'll be beautiful, but I wish I had gotten it done already. Our ancient cat seems to be sick and is throwing up all over the place, so hubby said he'll take cat to the vet today. The gardens are getting overrun because I've been too busy to get back to them, and it looks like they may have to wait another week. Hub can't mow the lawn (heart dr said so; I think they are in cahoots!) so I have to do that today. And things are breaking down, too. The garage door spring broke Monday; the dishwasher door lock keeps getting stuck with dishes inside; I just got a recall notice for my car; the "a" key on my keyboard sticks so I have to keep going back to retype "a"; those are the little things - my list of big things is huge! OK. I just needed to rant a bit on your beautiful parade! Now it's back to the salt mines for me. I promise to take many opportunities to enjoy my spring gardens while I'm wearing myself out today, and I know hub will make me laugh a lot. Lots of fun stuff goin on this weekend for the GW gang! Well except for Linda but I am sure she'll put a good spin on it all and come out smiling!! I took a day off from interveiwing fance and cement guys whew...I need it....turning the cell off too!! I think we pretty much made up our minds anyhow. I have to work tonight...as a checker-something I don't do very often and to top things off, I fell coming onto the house last night and hurt my left foot...OUCH!! I just banged it pretty bad and its ok but I am sure todays shift is going to be "LOVELY"!! I have few appts tomorrow and then working regular job at night. Then I am off for the week!! I an going to lay tile in the lanai-FINALLY!!! Plus we have a few small jobs to check off the list before the big work starts next month!! Have a happy and SAFE weekend!! Cheers! Susie

I'm home this morning but will be going in to work for the afternoon. I looked in the fridge and I need to spend the weekend POOFing. Cherry yogurt bread, soup, orange brownies and something for an appetizer are on the roster. I was going to have friends over Sunday nite (both their mom's are no longer around and they don't have kids) but I ended up going to MI for a job interview Mon. (yes Annie, I was in sunny GR Sun. and Mon.) and I came home to lots of catch up at work and tons of yardwork and housework, so I doubt if I'll be able to pull off guests this weekend.

BUT, I will be thinking of our two forum lovebirds as they tie the knot. Heck I've been thinking of you all week! So I'm lifting my morning chai tea to Annie and Elery. Mazel Tov!

Annie and Elery, it's hard to convey how happy I am for the two of you.

While the wedding is going on, I'll probably be just working on the house and yard. Kim has a conference to attend next Thursday, near my DM's, so we will be celebrating a belated Mother's Day with her then.

A BIG ~clink~ to Annie and Elery...I wish you a long and happy life together. I will always remember your anniversary because it'll be on my Dad's birthday (no, that doesn't mean you get presents, hehe).

Jessy, I'm jealous...my garden is still white (but my greenhouse is full of baby tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, leeks and basil. This weekend I'll pop some extra early sweet corn into some paper cups so they can get an early start. It dumped a few snowflakes on us yesterday...ugh.

Next week is DH's birthday and today Liana and I have bamboozled him into thinking we have to pick up some air freight for a friend. When we get to the airfield, he will be bundled onto a little helicopter and taken for a ride. He was on a helicopter in Vietnam and when he fought fires in Alaska, so he gets wistful every time he sees one and he has been wanting to fly over our mountain for years.

No plans for the weekend. The kid made me Mother's Day dinner last week because she is headed to Seattle for 4 days (we get the house to ourselves...whoo-hoo!). Sunday I will be happy to be able to get out and rake a little in the yard and have DH grill some burgers.

As for me I've got my bags packed and were heading out on this oh so rainy morning to AC!!
Tonight is the Van Halen concert!
It was supposed to be a few months ago but appaerently Eddie Van Halen hit the sauce again LOL! Had to go back to rehab I guess.
I am excited!! Hey I am a rocker girl at heart!!

Sunday I will no doubt have to work (drats) so I am not sure when I'll be seeing my mom...maybe get up early and take her to mass...its still up in the air.
Later Sunday Frank is going to Amy's school to bring her the luggage and totes so she can pack up for home!!
She has to be out of the dorm by Tuesday at noon!!
YEAH!! DD is coming home!! YEAH!!
Can you tell I am happy???

Next week Frank and I are going back to AC only this time we'll be going it alone!!
We get all sorts of comp rooms but with Drews increased seizure activity I can't leave him home alone...Amy took the night off from work so she can stay home with him and we can get away. So next weekend we'll celebrate our 20th anniversary (a month late) courtesy of Donald Trump LOL....well sort of LOL!!

Another wish for a very happy Mother's Day to all the moms and all those who take on a mom's role when mom is gone.

And the very best to Annie and Elery for all the years to come. I hope tomorrow is the perfect spring day.

Our weekend will focus on my dad, who will be 90 tomorrow. It's lunch at his favorite restaurant with my sib and the grandkids. Sunday no special plans, which is ideal because after an icy spring we finally have a little sunshine.

Ting Ting Ting'ing my glss to Annie and Elery...do you think they are kissing yet? :) Best of Luck to you both!

Anywho, I was just searching to see if I could find link to Annie & Elery's first date post (remember the Herb Garden or someplace like that last April) was able to find the second and etc dates but not the first. It was funny if you plug is Annie1992 there are 70 some on pages of entries and Elery has 9, he is catching up.

Tonight is run DD to mall an hour away so she can buy bathing suits for trip excursion (spelling?) next week. Tomorrow is suppose to be nice and I wanted to work out side but NOOOOOOO I have accompany my parents and DD to "Jesus Christ Superstar" Musical (funny thing the guy who is playing him, I think one of the original from broadway many moons ago...is twice the age of when Jesus died...no that is longevity ) Sunday will be going to the garden for my mothers day. Other than that nothing.

Happy Mother's Day to everyone celebrating.
We decided to celebrate Mother's Day next weekend, that way all the restaurants won't be so crowded. Sucks the joy right out of it when you're treated like cattle and the food isnt as good because the kitchen is backed up.

We're getting ready to take off for the weekend, camping again. Yes Ricky's going too. Camping Dog that he is. My friend is taking her big dog too, hopefully they will both get along. I'm not sure what to expect. *yikes*

I'll be busy with the usual - table tennis practice tonight, tomorrow car wash, hair color and trim, grocery shopping, etc. Sunday table tennis lesson, grilling dinner and making dessert for Sunday dinner after the lesson at GFs house. Basically hit the ground running and don't stop until I hit the sack Sunday night.

I have some bedding plants to work on this weekend, and more herbs to plant in my patio pots, as well as a few sacks of topsoil and fertilizer to spread around. Weather is hot so I'll have to start early before the day heats up.

*****CLINK***** of my Earl Grey to the nuptials of our newlyweds, Annie and Elery! They're a terrific couple and I wish them all the happiness that they deserve!

It's been a crazy week and the weekend promises more of the same. DSIL is in the Wisconsin Dells working and DD is under the weather so I've taken most of the week and spent it with DD and the two little guys. OMG I understand why she weighs 100 lbs! I'm sure I've lost at least 5 keeping up with the kids, the house and life! Cooking? How in the heck does Stacy do it with 3 little ones and she still finds time to post over here???? Whew!
Mother's Day? Spare me, last week I hosted the family for DH's birthday, last weekend, I don't want a repeat of the same tension, nor does DD. We'll keep it calm and maybe do what Shaun's doing for next weekend. Of course DH's brother and SIL planned AGAIN to be out of town, leaving us with MIL. They're such a piece of work...

First, Bubbe, hugs to you and Arthur, I'm so glad to hear he's home.

After that, thank you, everyone, for all your good wishes.

The weatherman says it'll be sunny and in the 60s, perfect weather for me, even in my sleeveless dress. The Inn where we're getting married has built a small open air chapel right at the lake side, with benches, a pine pulpit and a big pine cross rising out of the lake and wound around with tiny white lights. It's really very pretty, as long as I can keep Bud out of the lake, LOL.

We'll have that 15 minute Methodist ceremony, take the kids out to lunch afterward and then we are leaving town. Where are we going? Just to Elery's, far enough away that work and Dad can't interfere with a couple of days off. We'll take a honeymoon about February to somewhere warmer than Michigan.

We would have never met except for my boss and dear friend, Chrystal, so she has to be there. She'll take some pictures.

This morning I had my hair dyed red, the marriage license is on the table and Elery just got off work and is on his way.

Think of me tomorrow about 1 p.m. while I'm saying my vows and fishing Bud out of the water. You'll all be there in spirit, I know.

A couple of years ago the forum threw me my very first birthday party, for my 50th birthday. SharonCB sent two lovely white linen hankies from the Canary Islands and I put them away for Amanda's wedding. Well, I beat her to it, and so each of the girls will have one tomorrow, as symbol of all my friends here, stretching across countries and oceans and time and miles.

For some reason, I normally never read the TGIF threads, but I see this is the place to BE!

Annie and Elery, it warms my heart to know that you two found each other and are starting out on a great adventure together. May you have many, many years of happiness and the good health to enjoy your life together. Congratulations!

Bubbe, I'm glad that Arthur's home. May he continue to feel better and better.

We have nothing special planned for Mother's Day (unless DH and DS have been cooking up some secret plan), but the following Sunday we'll take MIL (who is turning 96 this week) out for a special dinner.

Annie, you talked of the napkins that san sent you...I know what that symbolism feels like. I've done the same thing before on an important day in my life. Only it wasn't napkins...It really is important to have your CF friends with you in a symbolic way. Pictures, please!

The family and I are going to a Mother's Day Brunch at a club my mother was a member of for 30 years and DH Father and Mother were involved in for many years. I'm feeling a bit nostalgic this Mother's Day. I hope we get the window seat where Mom and I always sat and had lunch :-) A monster menu of Assorted Salad Selections, Country Fried Chicken (the best in town), Crawfish Fettuccine, Rack of Pork, Grillades and Grits, Rice, Mashed Potatoes Assorted Vegetables and Wonderful Dessert. Ya think I may come home stuffed?

Congrats to Annie and Elery, I wonder if any CFer's will show up to surprise the happy couple.....

We have graduation tomorrow and some receptions to go to. I sent the girls to my sisters for the weekend. I need to get the rest of my gardening done while they are gone. Hoping DH will give me my usual Mother's Day present, tilling up my veggie garden. I cleaned all the mint out of the herb bed and it is such a clay soil I got some compost, manure and will add some grass clippings and work it into the soil. It is supposed to rain tonight through tomorrow and will plant the herb bed on Sunday.

Busy here with chores tonight and lots of stuff to get done tomorrow too. Sunday it's all about Mom. We decided to go out to eat this year, not my choice, but majority rules in my family. Then we are doing some work around her house and in her yard.

bubbe has her arthur home and we all know how tough trips to the hospital can be--especially on the spouse. it's great to know that things are as they should be again!

but i want to clink again; this time for susie. with extra best wishes that your family continues to gain strength and improve every day. i'm very, very happy to know your little girl with be returning soon as i'm sure that will be an extra special treat for you! and here's hoping that everyone else has something particularly wonderful to enjoy this weekend--clink!
