Sweet cornbread cake?

party_music50
last year

There's a new small take-out restaurant near here that has had pretty good food so far!!! They seem to try to include something a little different or extra with every order, and it's definitely homemade. Today our orders included this cute little piece of what I'm calling sweet cornbread cake. It's definitely cornbread like... it's just a bit more than lightly sweetened, but not as sweet as normal cake, and I definitely taste honey. It has a heavy/dense/moist texture, so I'd say it contains lots of cornmeal and vegetable oil. It also has the coolest finish! It's not burned. How'd they do this? I can only imagine that it involved a cast iron skillet. lol! Who has a recipe that makes something like this? I loved it! :)
