bosch platinum vs. 700 washer/dryer
Comments (18)Wow... I guess the people from Bosch must closely monitor this site!! Not long after I mention new products on their website, (dryers), they went ahead and change them back. I also mentioned on a deferent thread about a second website that showed all the new products and they locked that site from the public, you now need a username... But looser I agree it's ok to buy something that will be discontinued but then you would be better off to wait because: #1, they will probably have a LARGE price break and #2, parts may be available, but down the road it will always be harder to get parts for a discontinued product vs. a current product. I work for a color printer company and when a product becomes discontinued it becomes a fire sale with all the dealers. Support also becomes more difficult. And forget about getting any updates or improved parts, the new focus will be on the current and next model. The 700 series would concern me the most since itÂs only been out for about a year or so. It doesn't make sense to discontinue such a new model. About the water usage, I saw a difference but I thought it was minimal. I am unable to look at more data since they pulled them from the two websites. Looser, Did you know where you can still get more info on them? I decided against the 800 series due to it being "white and silver" that just doesn't sound right. So the 500 plus will be the one for me and I plan on getting pedestals even though there are a lot of threads saying they cause vibrations. I'm sure a place like Loews or Pacific Sales will return them if that is the case. Pacific Sales is returning an oven that ended up being too big for me with a full refund. Even with an open box and not to mention it's been it my garage for a year waiting for the kitchen to be done. I was pleasantly shocked when they told me that they will return it....See MoreCascade Platinum Dishwasher pods
Comments (110)Did my first load with the Cascade Platinum...in the prewash I added just a T. Of Korex powder which is a cheap doesn't work worth crap detergent, but I like something in the prewash...in the main dispenser I used 2 CP pacs..my machine uses too much water to use just one. I did NOT use STPP because I wanted to see how these would preform for me without help. It was by no stretch a bob load but still full enough. There were plates with dried on cheese from mac and cheese, a few plates with some rice grains, and a glass pot that I boiled chicken in for the dog...my stainless range top covers and one 9×13 stainless cake pan with the oil and flour residue from baking a cake. .everything else was just normal soil levels, drinking glasses, coffee mugs, stainless flatware ect...I will say the few pieces of stainless was clean shiney and polished, very nice, everything else was clean, but I did find some kibbles on top of a coffee mug, and one spoon with something stuck to it. I had one plastic container that housed sloppy joe that was remarkably so spotless it looked new. All in all I'd say the CP worked well, but I didn't have perfection. Next load I will use one pod and add phosphates and see how that does....See MoreOT: seeing again and again
Comments (5)Thank you for this. I don't post often as I have four children under seven but I always read. This is close to my heart. We are in our mid-thirties and moved about a year ago. I left many roses behind (including a 30 ft Peggy Martin trained on our chimney that will probably swallow that little house now that I'm not there to prune it) but I dug many and brought them here, to what we hope will be our home for the rest of our lives. It is a discipline to stay in one place, to look again and again. Amend the soil, dig out the plants that spoil the scene and plant something you plan to tend for decades. This is the garden I have the privilege of caring for. I might look around and wish for less humidity, changes in elevation, better soil, that the Norway maple in the back were a mature Cedar of Lebenon (haha) but ultimately no place is perfect and there is something rich in a commitment to a particular piece of earth with both it's flaws and occasional moments of beauty. There is so much in our gardens that isn't quite how we want it to be. The rabbits, the mildew, the weak rootstock. The picture is never quite finished but I am happy to know that I can look and look again instead of paying admission and moving on....See MoreOT - Winter Lingers, Yet Spring Is Near - Musings from Summerland
Comments (2)I'm currently I TX so we never see true winters but when I used to live up north, I found it to be the mos beautiful of the seasons, the stark bare beauty, like nature wiped out all the distractions so you can focus...not Grey or depressing but clean and a fresh slate..I did not garden then, no means and access and I wonder how that would have changed me...See Moreannpanagain
