Comments (37)George, that is great news. The trend now seems to be to hire temp workers and there are several reasons for it. Some companies do it so they don't have to pay benefits, but others do it because it is a way to test them out before they have to make a real commitment to them. I am sure you will do great and if there is a permanent job behind that temp, they will want to keep you. Comments (60)Grandma used to say, "Don't cross bridges till you get there". My boss once said, "Treat others like you'd like to be treated". That was good a couple of thousand years ago - and still works. I like a variation on another, "God likes to help those who are helping others". Dad used to say, "I want to leave my farm better than I found it". My variation is to replace "farm" with "community, country and world". Good wishes for helping leave the world a better place than when you came to it. ole joyful P.S. Comments (5)Umm, no, not really. You see, LUST is a 4-letter word. Limerance is what you feel when you first fall in love. But it's not love. Love is a decision. It's a choice that is also an emotion. Love is what happens when you get through the first 2 years or so of strong emotions and if you're lucky, real lucky, you choose to love each other. Love is what you choose to feel, if respect and trust are the foundations of your relationship, and if you truly enjoy each other's company. Love is what you feel when you realize the other person has a few warts but also has lots of good qualtities, and you know your life is so much better with that person in it. The way I look at it - I'm working to get independent and to enjoy my new life as a single person. When I've accomplished a few important goals I'll start dating. There is someone or even a few someones out there for me. And, when I'm ready, I'll meet up with them....See MoreWhich word processing program do you like?
Comments (5)Suite modules of whichever source - for word processing, presentations, spreadsheets, etc, from Apple, MS, Open Office, etc, are all very powerful and full of capabilities, 90% of which most people don't use. In my experience, anytime one tries to do something new or out of the ordinary, it can be hard to get the right information source to sort out what's possible and how to go about it. In contrast with the other thread, I think there can be reasons to NOT buy new versions of MS Office so long as it's compatible with a new operating system on one's new PC. I I recall going through at least 4 or 5 version or software changes of these apps that were an unwanted distraction. Always do-able, however, and the new versions always seemed more capable and less buggy....See More- 3 years ago
