did anyone consider SW origami? My walls are SW light french gray and family room, BM nimbus gray. I just painted my fireplace brick simply white, but it's too cold w/a hint of yellow...Origami is on my staircase kick plates/trim and it looks nice, but is very creamy. I want an off white with not too much yellow, pink or brown and I'm having a hard time...I may lighten the SW Origami by 15 to 25% and go with that. Any advice? I'm also doing my kitchen cabinets with whatever I choose for the fireplace/trim

I like Alabaster. Used quite a bit of it. Never used Westhighland. It dos not really matter how many people use or don't use any colour. What matters is if you like it. If it makes you feel good when you look at your home. That is the great thing about colour and all the colour books that are out there. It gives everyone several 1000's of colours to choose from. Who would want everyones house on the block to be the same or very similar colours. That wouldn't make too many people happy most likely. Both colours are similar and in my honest opinion you probably would not know the difference between the two with the variance of sun amounts that you will get at different times of the day on certain areas and sides. The colours will slightly change often with the lighting during the day you could always but a quart of each and put two coats of colour on some trim that is close together to see the difference and what you prefer. Then make your selection and you can even use up the quart for first coat on trim as the second coat will cover the other colour in one (if you are using high quality paint). Spend the extra money on top lines of paint. It is well worth it for so many reasons.

Amy Sivley, we had our cabinets painted Snowbound with extra white on all the trim. They look like the same color. Its a very stark white. in certain lights the snowbound has a pink hue & the extra white has a blue hue. way to bright for me but I’m stuck with it we did Pure white on our ceilings & love it. I wish i would have picked something that doesnt blind me when I walk in the kitchen. all our trim throughout the house is bright white & Im trying to pick a white for the walls & having trouble.we did Cedar Key in a few rooms & that looks great but I want to try white.

I know this is an older post but if this can help you or someone . . . ..Of the three colors mentioned, Oyster White will give you the look you're after and will look good in bright light and in more dull blue light during winter also. It would look good with Iron Ore and with a more black paint from SW such as Black Magic or Tricorn Black. Alabaster on an exterior can look great but it's much brighter than Oyster White. Snowbound, while one of my personal faves, can have some funny pink undertones at times. As always, test test test! Natural lighting and reflections from trees/ water/ other houses will affect a paint's appearance.
