Can't live with my living room...Layout help please?
Comments (12)justgottabme: Yes! excellent plan! The Tv needs to be in that corner next to the fireplace -- either mounted on the wall or sitting on a console or cabinet. Having a cabinet in that spot would anchor that whole corner. And more excellent ideas above too! Love the idea of bookshelves in each of the corners -- perhaps just try basic Ikea Billy shelving -- or other build-it-yourself shelves (try stores like Targer or Walmart)-- just to see if that plan will work for you? Or look for vintage shelving or bookcases on your local Craigs List! Swivel chairs can be found -- check your local Craigs List! But for now -- once you move the TV -- try placing one sofa facing the fireplace -- and another one facing the window -- forming the classic L-shape....See MoreWhat type of seating/layout for my living room?
Comments (13)I'm not a fan of placing the TV over the FP but in this case, I would lower the mantle and mount the TV over the FP. Then select a sofa and two chairs for the room. Is the blue wall staying? This style chair and sofa with the lowered arm will work in your room....See MoreHelp setting up Living Room (more multi-purpose)
Comments (21)From 108 - 120" is the minimum space it will take. Use painter's tape to tape off the traffic path through the room and you'll have a better idea of what can be done. Take a bed sheet and "fold/tape" it to replicate the amount of floor space the table and chairs require. You can move it to all three positions once the traffic path is defined. That should help you find the best spot for the table and chairs. Once that is determined, we can add other furnishings to the alternative locations....See MorePlease help me optimize my living room!
Comments (104)The ONLY way I would buy a 300.00 chair, would be in a teen dorm, to toss the old teddy bear , or the clothes that the kid refused to hang. Why? Because I don't fill the landfill - nor do I waste a clients money. ( Note: there is no free in life, and there is NO free shipping. It's IN the chair pricing in all of this stuff ) On what planet do trucks not need fuel, does a worker not get paid to pack and wrap?! What dock worker is hauling this container of junk off a ship for FREE? ) I understand resources, and the urge to finish a space. But you are being unrealistic about price points that would get some longevity and quality. Unless you are buying this to throw out, or to NEVER sit down. West Elm........ 799.00 ...and yes 6 weeks and their shipping. There are others, and other colors Even Better Quality? Room and Board... A sampling of choices... You don't want me to tell you that a decent chair starts at a grand or close. I would wait, save up. Room and Board ships for 75.00 dollars. Ask yourself how soon you'd like to be replacing an Amazon or Wayfair chair....See More- 2 years ago
