Lipstick plant........I am so mad at it right now!!!
Comments (25)good job, it's been revived after a 2yr hiatus on the lipstick plant. mine's been suffering v badly this winter where it's leaves dropped off almost daily. it's sited next to a west-facing venetian-slatted window (that means in winter, it's fairly dim). i haven't sprayed it before, but last winter, it seemed pretty healthy. i'm not quite sure how it's got to this stage where my treatment of it has been the same. in the growing season, it's been fed weekly (i think) and watered regularly. this winter all my plants have been watered at least once a week, and they haven't been in any unnecessary heat (i didn't put my heating on this winter). do you think it was the lack of heat that's causing the leaf-drop? i'd say, the house got as cold as 5 deg. celsius (tho' that's a major estimate!) and the outdoors minus 10 deg. celsius. it's currently sitting upstairs in my east-facing bedroom, where there is more light and a tad warmer than the downstairs room. it's also had a major trim of all the dead bare stems and the unhealthy leaves taken off. anyone to help?...See MoreI am SO mad I could scream! Comments (26)We actually met with our stainer, who is also our painter, after work today. Since he has worked with this stair builder before, I showed him my cabinetry & flooring samples and asked him what Jake meant by "dark maple" in his experience. He told me that stairs he has sprayed previously for Jake in dark maple are more of a walnut color and even if he just used a natural stain, he was honest enough to tell me it wouldn't look good with the ginger maple I have selected. He also told me that Jake "is a nice guy" and he's sure we'll be able to work something out. DH is leaving tonight OOT on business for 2 days so I have to work this out myself with him tomorrow. I will definitely be taking all of your advice and ensuring we have all bases covered 100%. We did actually consider painting the trim of the stairs, but I guess because our curved stairs are also open (ie: no risers) our designer wanted full wood. However we're going with satin chrome spindles that really dress them up & give them some splash. The more I think how dark that is, the more I get sick to my stomach and shake my head wondering what on earth he was thinking??? We don't have a large house either, that dark would look awful. Oh well. Wish me luck tomorrow please, I really hope I don't need it but could use all I can get. And thank you again for all of your advice, this has been very gratefully appreciated....See MoreI am so mad!
Comments (17)txgal - I am thinking that everyone involved with this had no clue of what was going on! We are in Hays County here in Texas and the builder has never had to do a form survey before so I'm not sure what to say there. As far as the bank goes, the loan officer immediately gave me the impression this morning we would not need one because of building on 7 acres. But, they are taking the survey with the foundation poured (not sure how they could not since it is a done deal!) and she told me once the outside of the house is done, driveway and sidewalks we would need the final survey. My thing is we are not having the builder put in our sidewalks. We plan on doing that ourself so we will see if that turns up as a problem! Gee, wish I had your surveyor! I paid $860 for the boundary survey and the foundation survey will be about $300 or so. Not sure what the final survey will be. I would think not much more since they have almost everything surveyed! LOL! I guess we will see how it all turns out once they out there tomorrow. I am just keeping my fingers crossed everything is ok!...See MoreSo Simple, So Awesome! Mad Yummy Broccolini!
Comments (2)I do the same as you with many vegetables. Olive oil, balsamic, but I often add a few drops of fish sauce. I also quick fry some garlic in the oil. dcarch...See Morecaflowerluver
