In a vivid dream, some painted floozy was trying her best to take my man! I woke up very mad at her, but not at DH because he was oblivious to her attentions. Full disclosure: I woke up kicking at "her" but poor DH was the recipient!

I've always felt that my last dream sets in place my wake-up mood, at least for the first hour or so. It doesn't matter if I recall the dream or not, just that my emotional state is locked into place for a short while until I shake it off.

LOL! I can honestly say this hasn't happened to me. I seldom remember the dreams I was having.

My dreams always linger and set the mood for the day. I have very vivid dreams. The other day I had one that DH and DS were in a car accident. DS was killed and DH was paralyzed. It seemed so real that I didn't want DH to take DS to his doctor's appointment. I was worried till they got home. A shrink would have fun with my dreams.

There's some new nocturnal animal in my area that sounds just like a squeaky wheel as it turns and hits the squeak in a rhythmic sequence. The sound has made it difficult for me to get to sleep. One night I had to resort to playing pink noise on my Echo Dot to drown out the sound.

As to dreams, I rarely remember them, so I would say they have no impact on my day that I know of.

When I lived in Culver City in a second floor apartment, there was a giant strelitzia just outside my bedroom window, and a Mina bird (obviously a pet that had gotten loose) would sit in it and say "Hello, hello" over and over again. It sounded like there was a person at my second story window, and it was quite disturbing at first.

It sounds like your bird was also a mimicker and was mimicking the alarm.

There are a lot of tropical birds that get loose in Los Angeles and live full lives. Sometimes parrots even form flocks.

I had a dream a few months ago that I had gotten the news on social media that my daughter had been assassinated. That was the term used like she was a political figure. I willed myself awake.

I can't recall any dreams where I was angry at someone. Mine are mainly about positive feelings toward people, and only occasionally frustration or fear.

I never have dreams in which I get mad at someone, but then I do not tend to allow myself to get mad at people. I do tend to have extremely vivid (and often disturbing) dreams, but I take medication to keep them somewhat under control.

My dreams often involve frustration - like getting lost or missing a flight. Lately, most of the flights I miss in my nightmares are going to Rome, and that makes me very disappointed in the dream.

Other dreams involve flying saucers and meeting aliens from outer space, although many of them are friendly. Sometimes they just want to seduce me, and I have to fight them off.

My most disturbing dreams are about interacting with people who have died. I have lost my father and 4 of my brothers and they are the ones who appear in my dreams. I also have dreams about working in my former profession and those are stressfull and I'm always glad to wake up and say to myself "I don't have to do that anymore". I don't think I have happy dreams - if I do, I don't remember them.

I'm always happy when a family member returns in my dreams. Sometimes they are funny, but I'm always thankful to see them again.

Mostly my dreams consist of my having to go somewhere and I can't find my car or I don't know the way or I can't find my house, that kind of thing. This morning I had a dream I liked. I had an Akita (a breed I would never own) and this dog walked right beside me, didn't even need a leash. He could climb up walls and ladders and was always beside me. I was happy for his company and that he was a very nice dog. I was hoping he would come home with me and that he and Carmelita would like one another. I woke up before that question was answered.

I've had a couple of times over the years where DH just really made me mad in a dream, and it really starts your day off wrong. One time I had to say "I know this is irrational, but I'm really pissed off at you so just don't talk to me right now." Luckily, it's only happened two or three times ever.

I once dreamt that I murdered someone I hated. I still recall the dream decades later. I slowly walked up their lawn and into the house and in a very grisly way, murdered them with great relish. As I left the house I was overcome with sadness that I had ruined my own life and had no future. I woke up so grateful it was only a dream. I couldn't believe that my "dream self" could do such a thing and that I needed to let go of my anger.

Recently I had a dream where I was late for school and running to be on time because there was a giant clock I could see floating in the sky. I needed to be there because there would be a test that day but my legs were rubbery and I had to drag myself. Six decades later and I still think I'm in grade school?

My scariest dream happened when I was a child and I remember it to this day. It took place in the two-story house we lived in when I was a small child. I went into the bathroom and my parents were there but they weren't my parents but looked exactly just like them. Analyze THAT one!

When we were first married my husband smacked me on the cheek in our sleep. I woke up and saw his face frozen in terror. He then explained he had a dream that a rat was running across the bed and he was going after it. He was absolutely horrified of what he had done and was pretty afraid of what my next move might be, like exiting.

That happened in 1994, never again. He still turns white as a sheet if the story comes up.

I don't remember much of my dreams. That annoys me to no end.

hahaha! this was most likely a male mockingbird singing for a mate. they are notorious for doing this all night long and are quite adept at imitating just about any sound they hear.

i once had a mocker mimic my squeaky wheelbarrow. it was hilarious!

Topic swerve: thrashers are reportedly even better mimics than mockingbirds, I understand, and are often misidentified as mockingbirds, because they generally stay out of sight. We have both in our yard, and I've spotted 2 different pairs around here in the past week. This page states thrashers only repeat their phrases twice, while mockingbirds repeat more times:

It's funny, but when deceased family members appear in my dreams, it always seems perfectly normal - no strong emotions either way. Same when I have dreams about my son when he was small. He's 40 now 😏

We have many wild animals that make a lot of noise at night. The weirdest is a mt lion in heat. I can't describe it but it will make the hairs on the back of neck stand up. Coyotes use to bother me but after 36 years I am use to them. We have a tall ridge behind our house where they like to howl, but don't hear them as much as we use to. When it happens after I am asleep, I try to make the sounds fit into the dream which results in weird dreams.

Speaking of BEEP BEEP BEEP.

Last evening as I was doing dishes, I noticed that down at the car detailing business across the field yonder, there was a pickup truck flashing all its lights. The business had been closed for about an hour. I assumed the truck's alarm system was going off and no one was around. I searched for a phone number of the owner, couldn't remember his name, only phone number available was the office of the business. Which was no help.

Finally when I got back to the window, I saw the lights weren't flashing anymore. But - some time later, the horn starts beeping. This happened off and on right up til 11pm. when I went to bed. In fact, I was awakened by the beeps once during the night.

I figured the alarm system stops after so long or else the owner of the vehicle perhaps was being made aware of it with some app on his key fob??? and was turning it off that way. I don't know why someone didn't come to the shop to deal with it.

While I have no idea whether yesterday's emotional issues may spawn topics in dreams, I think that it's helpful for our whole ongoing healthful being to make it part of our day closing ritual to deal with various issues that are still hanging fire from that day.

Maybe if one awakens after a traumatic dream, give some thought to resolving any lingering issues, visit the bathroom mirror, offer some words of affirmation, give one's self a smile and a wink and give best wishes for the upcoming day. But only if such actions are genuine, come from one's heart.

It sure helps if one feels reasonably comfortable in one's own skin ... after all of these years!
