Happy Father's Day! To celebrate, my hubby took me to Lowe's and bought me 2 new shelving units for my greenhouse and a deck box to store my gardening supplies in! :-D Wasn't that a nice Father's Day present he gave me? LOL Hey, I cooked him breakfast, so I deserved the goodies! Actually we did a fair bit of shopping today, so not much was accomplished in the gardens. But tomorrow I'll get my new goodies set up and all my stuff can then be nicely organized. My hose caddy broke a few days ago, and while it's getting pretty tiring doing all my watering with the 2-gal. can, we still didn't find a decent caddy today so hubby said he'd hit some other stores after work tomorrow and find me a good one. Guess I can "hand" water for one more day. My sickly Sweet 100 cherry mater continues to look like it's slowly but surely improving. One of the flowers is just fading as of today... I'll be interested to see if the plant sets fruit or not after its trauma/illness. If not, it appears there's a second plant/sucker coming in, and I might just cut off the main plant and see what the little one might do. Time will tell.... Oh! And I have a strawberry whose seeds turned red today! Yeehaw! That little berry may very well be my first official "harvest" from my first official kitchen garden. Stay tuned, Folks!

Wow! Boxes are flying!!! And of course, the host is late getting her's out! Sorry Annie! I'm hoping to get it in the mail by Wed at the latest! Will someone PLEASE let out a BIG YELL for me?!? I've lost my voice today, it started out just squeaky and raspy, now I am down to barely a whisper! I never realized how much I talk! LOL! AND, I've never had this before and never knew how straining it is to try and talk with no voice! I am trying some home remedies *grabbing the last tea back from Dan* Sorry Dan, but I am ill and need medicine! hehe Maybe we can get someone to go for a "tea" run! Sprouts!!! Does anyone else besides Linda have sprouts?!?! Should I have them already? We are still getting temps in the 20's some nights! We got 4" of snow last Tuesday morning, and by 2:00 it was almost 60 degrees out and it had all melted! They are calling for more of that icky stuff all week! Well, I'm gonna go get Zack ready for bed, he thinks this is just great that I can't talk and of course Jamie is out of town so there is no here to "enforce" what I whisper and he keeps saying "what? All your dinners sound delicious! Ours was just for 4 of us and I did an 11 pound turkey, cornbread dressing, mashed taters & gravy, sweet potato casserole, jiffy corn casserole, the green bean dish, fresh cranberries and the canned jelled cranberries. But instead of regular pumpkin pie, I made this pumpkin cream cheese dump cake that was so good! The only thing I would change with the recipe is to add a little more milk to the cream cheese layer so that it is easier to pipe. I had to glob mine on top of the pumpkin layer, but it was still perfect! The cake mix on top with the melted butter became a streusel type topping. PUMPKIN CREAM CHEESE DUMP CAKE Ingredients: 8 oz. cream cheese 3/4 C. powdered sugar 2 tsp. milk 1 can (29 oz.) pumpkin puree 1 can (12 oz.) evaporated milk 3 eggs 1 1/4 C. sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 Tbsp. pumpkin pie spice 1 yellow cake mix (dry) 1/2 C. butter, melted 1 Tbsp. cinnamon sugar mixture, optional whipped cream Directions 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees and grease a 9 X 14 pan. 2. Using a mixer (a KitchenAid or hand held) combine cream cheese, powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Set aside. 3. In a large bowl, combine pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, eggs, sugar, salt, and pumpkin pie spice. Pour into prepared pan. 4. Put cream cheese filling into a small ZipLock bag, and snip off the tip the make a mini piping bag. Then pipe over the pumpkin filling (see photo). 5. Pour the dry cake mix over the cream cheese layer then poke holes using the end of a wooden spoon or a table knife through the cake mix until you hit the filling (not to the bottom of the pan). 6. Pour melted butter over the dry cake mix. 7. Sprinkle cinnamon sugar over the entire cake for extra flavor and crunch. 8. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until the top is browned and an instead knife comes out clean. 9. Let cool and serve with whipped cream! Oh my everyone. Thank you for your help, olychick, Tibbrix, aktillery, sjhockeyfan, may_flowers, joaniepoanie, and everyone else! So I bought it. It's on. Not the best pic, and no big pillows, but goes good with my clearance target performance $20 king sheets:) I also told Target I had lost my rain check and they gave me 15% off without it, so I was happy. I had a rough day with some cautious good news, so I figured I deserved it too :) So here goes...
