Engineered Hardwood decision for renovation

After months of researching between hardwood and LVP, what can go on my concrete slab, learning about wear layers, veneer layers, SPC, WPC, and visiting at least 5 different flooring stores....

I finally thought I had found the one. An engineered French oak at a local “mom & pop” - because I learned, from my research, NOT to shop at big box stores...

However the lady in the store didn’t have info on the “wear layer”.

At $7.45 a square foot, I thought it would be decent. No problem.

Emailed customer service for the floor manufacturer...

1.5mm 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
😩😩😩

Any recommendations for an engineered hardwood with enough veneer to refinish at least once or twice? Not too much variation. Subtle, classic.

We are restoring/renovating my grandparents’ house that he built 30 years ago from a 100+ year old cypress house that he tore down.
