Elkay Quartz Luxe sink colors
Comments (16)Joseph, we are doing a new build. I like this sink. You mentioned its your second best selling sink. Wondering what your best seller is? Do you have experience with the silvermist color (staining/watermarks)? Do you have any installation tips I could pass on to my builder? I really appreciate all your very helpful adviice...thanks....See MoreHelp!? Blanco, Kraus, Elkay, Vigo Composite sinks
Comments (16)I am close to starting a kitchen renovation that includes an Elkay Quartz Luxe in Silvermist. My son bought a home that has an Elkay classic quartz in black. He already has a white cloudy stain in the faint shape of a circle-like a bowl- that sat in the sink. They have no idea what could have caused this to happen and have tried everything to remove it but it seems to be permanent. So now I am worried and wonder I should switch to stainless. Is it not ok to leave dishes sit in a quartz sink when you are rushing out the door to work or having a midnight snack?...See MoreElkay Quartz Liz Sink 33 inch vs 35+
Comments (3)Rip 1" off the top of the cabinet sides, install (2) Sink Straps from Regent Stone Products, and drop the sink into the cabinet. After the tops and faucet are installed, silicone the sink flange, run a bar clamp through a 2x4 spanning the top and through the drain and clamp the sink in place. Check your reveals, tighten the straps, and remove the clamp. If you ever need to change the sink, you'll tap the cabinet front off and be done in less than 2 hours. Comments (7)So, I'm not a plumber but maybe I can help? Your sink appears to be an Elkay "perfect drain." When using a disposal with this setup, there is a different assembly that is used to retrofit the disposal into the Elkay drain parts, because the perfect drain is slightly smaller than a traditional drain. Your install appears to be normal looking from your pics. The flange that is visible is there because of your garbage disposal. The beauty of the perfect drain is that there is no outer flange around the top of the drain hole, making that part seamless. I have a stainless Elkay sink with the perfect drain and I've been very happy with it - easy to clean / no hard water buildup. (I opted to not have a disposal but that's neither here nor there..) There should have been a rubber splash guard included with your disposal. The strainer that's currently in your pic would be unnecessary unless you want to plug up the sink to fill it. It seems as though your plumber was trying to do you a favor by keeping everything white to match your sink. ;-) Edit - you may need to purchase a smaller rubber splash guard than what's standard, double check the size. The regular Insinkerator splash guard might be too big, I'm not totally sure....See Morelcm1986
