A trick I used for brick/tile was overlaying with non sanded tile grout. Then painted it. I didn't want the brick to show at all. Am assuming here that your brick is thin. Even wall board paste would work, sealed and painted. The other is to just remove the brick, a big job, then recover with wall board. I just prefer no brick at all. As for the doors, painting is a huge task. You may want to reface if money/time is there. Or paint the bottom doors only and cut opening in the top ones for glass or another material. You could also insert panels within the trim. One of my favorite kitchens is from the set of Two and a Half Men, they painted the doors two different colors (insert/outside trim). Kitchen doors always take a lot of work, but many here have done some wonderful redos of existing cupboards with instructions on how they did so. I'm not great on colors, they are a personal touch. My kitchen is terracotta, off the grid of most. One of the kitchens here was with black cupboards on the bottom and top ones a contrast. Loved that kitchen.

@alisa they look like they match the color of the markings! When I get back to Guam I'll send some photos. My weather is very similar to Singapore's (humid and hot all year round) so my current watering rituals are to water once a week, slowly until water comes of the bottom of the pot. I don't have a specific ratio of what my soil mix is, but it's made up of a little potting soil, pebbles, and soil from my yard (which has more little pebbles). Throughout the day (7:30am-6pm), they're outside on my west-facing window sill and catch the late afternoon sun. I've had majority of them for 2 weeks and so far they're all still alive. Loving the learning process and I'm so happy to discover this super cool community!!!

as far as I understood they repair while they mitigate..I suppose different crews at work, but one can't just remediate without replacing whatever's damaged. one needs to get estimates though-what's happenning, where, what it entails..it is overwhelming, we also spent couple months just being in shock and drinking wine, even though ours didn't present any safety issues unless being disturbed. Then one takes a deep breath and starts calling.. and sources for leaks should be all taken care of, no question I'd start with a mold guy and a GC..to put some picture together insulate the house..drywall comes out for that..you might be surprized at the state of black paper too..we patched ours, overall was not bad.. or else would be easier to take the house down..asbestos-we had to remediate it 'cause was everywhere..but yes, now the house' s insulated)) and we're in Southern CA, no snow-but makes sense for a house to be insulated. roof-was still fine yet we did have to change lots of stuff there since was at the end of its cycle. and we didn't have leaks, mold, etc nothing structural too. and wiring was fine. still..life experience I could easily live without lol but hey..everything learned in comparison. I had this phrase I'd be telling myself "Nobody shoots yet? okay then". I got it in my head to automatic level. It popped up even when I didn't need it. Like a broken record. Yet it helped. In order to do stuff one needs to keep himself functional..)) as for Craigslist etc don't worry..half of our place is craigslisted, etsied, ebayed, blahblah. One of the best affordable ways to create, with time, a cozy and meaningful place for your family. So as to that part-a day will arrive and you'd be, like, wow, all the stories I have in our house.

Nice room with some very nice furnishings, but feel it needs some tweaking/editing. Since the fireplace wall is symmetrical I think I would try more symmetry on that wall also. It looks like you have room to even pull sofa forward and have lamps behind, but flanking would work too.
