I like what you have. Replace the shades with the same color but get the blackout version. Then use sheers and panels on a double rod. I prefer shades so that they can be kept open all day in order to let in the natural light.

Do you really need sheers and blinds? I’d keep the blinds and add blackout panels, but you might prefer keeping the sheers. I don’t think you’ll get all that much oomph from raising the rods to the ceiling.

For me, I would want something a bit dramatic to off-set your lovely new tufted bed. I don’t know what your climate is, so I don’t know if solid dark velvet-y drapes would feel oppressive, but that is what I would go for. If I was someplace in the sunbelt, I might go for something linen (backed with blackout) with a subtle embrodiery design

Hang them at the top with four panels and three blackout roman shades or top down/bottom up blackout shades, no sheers.

@grapefruit1_ar that’s exactly what I envisioned. I love sheer and panels but also need the blackout. I get a lot of sun in the morning (blackout allows to sleep in a bit on the weekends :). Didn’t know there were shades like mine but in blackout. Would you mind posting a pic of one? I googled but Roman shades are coming up - they’re beautiful but I prefer the option of closing and opening shades. Thank you !!

Our shades are called Room Darkening Cellular Shades. We purchased them from Lowes.

I like this treatment...rod hung high with both the operational shades and the single panels for color and texture. Notice how one panel fits each corner.

Forget the blinds use the sheers and blackout drapes hung form the ceiling do the drapes like the pic above I use grommet drapes for ease of opening and closing
