Comments (22)Thank you for all your suggestions! All were great ideas! So this is what Im going to try. Leave the current setup in front of the TV and just bring the sofa in a bit more to make space for sofa table and then creating another seating area with 2 chairs flanking the fireplace. Also move the chaise near the bar with a floor lamp. Perfect! One last question, should i place a small rug in front of the fireplace area( maybe a round one) or leave it?...See MoreFurniture in front of fireplace...?
Comments (13)@Beverly the table is a 79" x 39" 4 person table and it actually doesn't extend past the dining room area, I can totally see how it looks that way in the other photo. The dining room is 11'11" x 9'6" wide. The table is closer to the living room side as the light fixture is mounted off centre to accommodate room for a sideboard/allow space to walk around the end of the table on the other side - hope that makes sense. We have tried moving the table over the the right (closer to the other wall), and it still doesn't seem to alleviate the awkwardness of how close the fireplace is to the dining room window/dining room window. Please don't judge the dirty curtains... the dog puts his nose all over them. I hope this photo helps and maybe you have other ideas?...See MoreHelp w/ large Living Room- fireplace focal, front door interrupts
Comments (1)First of all, can you return your sectional. It dwarfs your room and if your drawing is to scale, it make moving things around very difficult. If it can’t be returned, I suggest that you give up the notion of hanging your tv above the fireplace. It will be too high, to begin with, and will overwhelm the fireplace. The most logical place for your tv is the long, unbroken wall against which you have placed your sectional. I would try and swing the sectional so that its back is three feet from the wall with the little closet and the stairs, facing the window. This should permit placement of your tv in the CORNER to the side of the front window, opposite your front door. Can your sectional be reconfigured in any other way? You have barely any place for a chair or table in the room. And, yes, because of the chaise, the coffee table cannot be centered. But that really isn’t that critical....See Moresuzanneross
