Hi there,

we recently had to get a new shower valve put in, which left a hole in the tile (placed on an outside wall, so nowhere to go in from behind). I really dont want to hire someone to do this because I feel like it should be too hard of a fix, but I am at a loss with how to properly put in backerboard/surface which tiles will go back on. any tips would be appreciated! would a reinforcing wire with mortar and a waterproof membrane over it work to fill in the space pre-tiling? (Note: surrounding tile will be re-grouted too, hence the unfilled spaces between them)
