HELP! My hibiscus tree is dropping tons of leaves everyday!!!
Comments (12)I, too, am having a problem with my hardy hibiscus. They came up on time(after I cut off the dead from the winter) and grew up really fast. But now they have buds and are starting to drop leaves. They didn't do that last year. I was wondering if they might have a virus? I fed them Osmocote in late April/early May. Should I boost them with Miracle Grow now? Maybe the budding is starving them? They're in pots on my deck and they are HUGE!...See MoreNEW: 2013 Spring/Summer African Violet Swap
Comments (9)Parr - if I'm understanding your question, you are reading the limit of three as being for 3 leaves/plantlets per person. That's not what I intended, you could send as many as you would like. The limit of three means that if you sent 10 leaves (all of one variety) that you would only be guaranteed three different ones back for those 10 of the same variety. If you sent 20 leaves of all different varieties, you would get at least 20 back. That's how the seed exchanges I've participated in have been set up to help ensure variety. Hope this helps! :) I was hoping that this format instead of the standard round robin would result in less loss of plant material. In following the round robin threads, it seems that often people are having to toss and replace items which have gotten mushy....See MoreBulbs to trade - spring and summer bulbs
Comments (28)I have tons of Fire Bug and right now I'd prefer to give away the bulbs and plants I have for postage. I also have a bunch of houseplant cuttings I need to slim down on so that I can bring them all in for the winter and have enough space! Anyone still interested in my plants, send me another PM and I'll get right on it - I need to work on clearing out these extra plants before winter! I do still have the Peruvian daffs for those that wanted them, and fall is best for shipping them. You can winter them over in your garage/basement dry (I got them dry originally, but wintered them over in the pots in the dark-ish, cool-ish basement last year.) I also have a ton of calla lily seeds I'd like to give away rather than pitch - they DO sprout and grow! Thanks for your patience!...See MoreWhat's for Dinner #401, Spring/Summer 2022
Comments (105)Happy birthday!. Mine was the 15th. I'm sure we had a nice meal but i've forgotten. Most likely seafood. Pasta looks great. Hick-ups in loading on here. My issue is having to log in every time. You will like the silicone lids Annie. Super for little hands if a snack is prepped ahead or for opened salsa in the fridge. I use reverse osmosis water filters and keep jars in the fridge so not much ice is needed. I could use a few more 4 oz and six ounce jars. Making some fruit salads with yogurt and layered chia pudding. Blueberries are good this year. Just put in three more plants. Mine are 15+years old. I made my version of Greek lemon Chicken. Head start quartered steak potatoes. Lots of lemon with 6 small boneless skinless chicken thighs. After 1/2 hour i piled on olives, cherry tomatoes, baby artichoke hearts, tucked in big cubes of fetta and back in the oven for 20 to roast. Usually a Fall/Winter dish so seemed a bit heavy. Made chicken salad lunches but so much left-over we had it again but with thin sliced massaged greens and some pasta. So much better with lots of veg....See MoreSueb20
