You think it would look ok to have blinds on the windows but not the door? Love your suggestion of Carmel - without seeing my whole room, I must tell you that carmel would look really good in here. Oceanna - I have looked at the JC Penney online site. I can get bogged down looking at inspiration pics, because I like so many of them. That's why in the end, I love to ask for opinions from all of you. So much talent in one place! Amity - did you make your draperies? Have you posted a pic on this forum? I am toying with the idea of sewing these myself, but am scared to try it; thats a lot of fabric to screw up! These will need to be lined, also. Do you think that a lined faux suede will be too heavy for clip on rings? Callaloo - thanks for the visual. I have thought about grommets also. I did wonder if they would hang up, especially if I do lined faux suede. As you can tell - I have zero experience in the window treatment department. One of my concerns is that the width of the windows and the door are not equal. Do you think it will be a non-issue in the end? Would I make both panels equal to the greater width of the windows to make them "appear" to be the same width? Am I totally in over my head and should I just call out the experts? I hate to pay for labor on anything I can do myself!

1st thing I would do is find someone other than Long Fence for advice. With the exception of buying contractor's fencing, you are going to get overcharged. Next, deal with a qualified remodeler that will understand and explain how the different phases of work are best tackled and staged. It is not that difficult in the end and a good contractor should be able to explain and stage it properly.

Jeldwen are not top of the line and I don't live too far from where they are made. So I like Marvin and Anderson. I also have replaced windows and have 5 more on order. Have to say that I'm happy with the line that my installers use. It's a small company from MN. Good to deal with a local business that will stand behind their work, no matter what brand you go with. My experience with casement was not good over time because the crank stripped and the window would have to be pushed shut from the outside. Happy with our double-hung. It gets pretty cold here in IA, and we've noticed a big difference.

As long as they are the same on the exterior, the interior of a closed door room can have any color painted windows that works.
