Help me!! Should I add shutters or stain the front door??
Comments (2)Yours is one house that can support even the most outrageously "out there" color on the front door and still look good, given the uniform charcoal color. A stain (if you buy a new door to put it on) would be too tame. Shutters would improve its appearance in its present state, but if it were mine, I would be more likely to try to use plantings to soften and fill the gaps. It also might benefit from a much larger and more decorative light next to the door....See MoreWhat tree/shrubs should I add in front of home? (Zone 9B)
Comments (1)We had a ligustrum tree in front of our brick wall for 25+ years. Although we kept it trimmed, it got too big and took over that area. It's been removed and we want to replace it with a smaller, hopefully slower-growing tree to be centered on the brick wall in front of the ligustrum hedge. What do you recommend that we plant there? Should we also continue the row of boxwoods to go in front of the ligustrum hedge? I'll post a photo of the front of the house and then a close up of the area in question. Thanks!...See MoreHow would I add a screened porch in the front of my house.?

It isn't just "add a screened porch" . ..unless you use the one you have Otherwise? Buy a beautiful gazebo, and put it where it best suits the view. Enjoy in good weather with screens...See MoreHelp! Comments (28)I know shed dormers are the “typical” dormers on capes but what do you all think of the way the house looks with these dormers? The celiling will be very high in what will be a rather small room. The shed dormer would have a low celiljng and make the room feel even smaller?...See MoreDarla Wetz-Anderson
