Once the new floor is installed, prime all the walls with white primer. That will get rid of orange reflections from the current paint. It will be much easier to choose a color that goes with your floor and upholstered pieces.

Love the tin ceilings, I would leave them, and repaint them, so the rooms are brighter. I would not put shiplap on the fireplace, and I agree 100 percent with apple_pie_order above, to prime out those walls before choosing a color. The color of the walls now, does not go with your new beautiful flooring, and it needs to be primered before you can pick a color that you know will work right with the new flooring.l

Agree - the hardwoods are nice, but we have dogs and would rather not ruin the floor

Prime walls and upgrade the lighting to 3500-4000K LEDs to get accurate color readings. When you narrow it down to a handful, get large peel-off samples from samplize.com that you can move around to different walls at different times of day, weather conditions, etc. to make sure it looks acceptable in all conditions within your home.

We won’t be painting caninets, which is something I knew we’d have to consider if going white in that space. But I will look at the link you shared! Thanks again!

Its really hard to give an answer since the floors arent in th house, and you have posted no picture of the flooring.

Plus nothing in the house pictures you posted is yours.

We would need to see the flooring, next to the couch in real life. Do you have swatches of the couch fabric that you can put with the flooring you picked?

After the new floors are in as suggested prime all the walls and then go get poster boards paint each one with 2 cots of the colors you think will work IMO 3 at most make sure all your lighting is the same everywhere I like LEDs 4000K but 3500K can be okay too. Then if youwant to make the floors work IMO you go with some shade of green since that will be the complimentary color to the red floor. I am curious why you chose a red floor at all so maybe share that I just looked at the flooring you chose not cherry in any way so threw me off. So I agree to wait until the floors are in and then post pics here of your stuff and the floors together all your stuff will also drive the wall color .

Paint color is always picked last. You will not regret that.

Prime the walls and get the floors down. Add your furniture, then think paint color.

I plan to use Dusk Cherry and am wondering about paint colors too. What paint color did you choose and would you mind sharing pictures?

We ended up going with BM Classic Gray and I love how it all turned out! The accent wall in the dining space is SW Evergreen Fog.
