Lav faucet install problem--urgent help please!
Comments (2)Thanks for the info. It is the K181. It looks as if the spout has several steps on the bottom--which would accomodate different sized holes. The bottom step fits in the spout hole (sort of) for our sink. I just does not go all the way down so that the next "step" rests flat on the surface of the sink. My husband was able to get it attached fairly securely. He also found an escutcheon that fits around the base of the spout (which was in the package, though wasn't listed in the install instructions), so the gap at the bottom is covered. Seems to function properly as installed, with no leaks. So I think we're good to go until we remodel that bathroom. I think those faucets are meant (ideally) to be mounted in a countertop with an undermount sink. It figures that the prettiest faucets are a pain to repair. However, what we had before were made by a company called "Epic" which is which has now gone out of business. We tried unsuccessfully to get compatible parts for the old ones, to no avail. At least Phylrich is still around. Thanks again for your response....See Morefaucet hole drilled too close to backsplash in quartz countertop
Comments (15)Thank you to everyone who responded, very much appreciate your iput. The owners of the company agreed to replace the counter at their cost and do it correctly - this was achieved only because we could back up our claims of an incorrect install based on the information provided by you all! Sammy - unfortunately, my sister lost her two dogs and cat in the fire; she was not home. The cause of the fire was the slight reverberations of the built-in microwave caused a screw in the mounting bracket to slowly over time rub the the casing off an electrical wire in the wall; the fire investigator had never seen this before and is now using this in their training. She would trade all of her possessions to have her pets back, a year later it's still devastating for her to have lost them. Again thanks to all and hope everyone has a happy, healthy, safe and prosperous New Year!...See MoreQuartzite install - help set me up for success!
Comments (19)A single slab of something with that much linear pattern will be a crazy quilt of non matching seams in any but the tiniest of kitchens. Most kitchens require a 2 slab purchase, and use 1 1/2 of them. A stone with a challenging pattern match will use most of 2-3 bookmatched slabs to get those seams looking just right. Sometimes the leftovers are enough to use in small spots like a hall vanity. It depends on how the cut needs to happen. Only 1 slab is going to be suspect to have poor seaming until proven otherwise....See MoreNot enough holes drilled in my granite.
Comments (39)"Not trying to be contrary but I searched this thread, and after your post where you said ”Thanks, but I don't like the pulldown faucets” I don’t see one post that recommends a pull-down faucet. Do people see different comments here that for some reason I cannot see them? I am asking in case this is a regular glitch with Houzz that some comments are not viewable by some people, maybe depending on their browser or device, idk." Yes there are "features" where the order of posts seen by posters can be different. I don't know how it happens or why, but I have seen it happen several times. It may have something to do with autmoderation. There can also be deleted posts....See MoreJoseph Corlett, LLC
