Backsplash tiles that go with hexagon floor tiles?
We have mini hexagon floor tiles in our kitchen and I'm really struggling to figure out what backsplashes go with that flooring...or if it even really matters?
I am 100% decided on white tiles, so whatever we choose will be solid white with low-contrast grout. My problem is shape. Do shapes clash, or can I choose any shape as long as the colors coordinate?

Granite Backsplash with Tile BS or just Tile Backsplash???
Comments (6)My granite supplier advised using tile from the granite up (no granite back splash). She could have advised the other way and made a little more money, so I think she advised based on her honest opinion. I also like the "no granite back splash" look better. Comments (12)lmao. what Jan said! Although, I had to help out my guys who did my herringbone wood floor. it's the starting point where everyone gets messed up. after that, it's simple. Look up how to properly start a herringbone layout and read it. you need to use a speed square at the end of your tile in order to get the proper middle starting point. much easier to illustrate than trying to write it out here. This is how I showed my guys how to start it. see the blue tape w/the two lines? you have to start on the middle after you mark your corner. that's the only way you will get perfect even cuts on both ends. this is how most do it, and it's not correct IF you want perfectly symmetrical left/right borders. All he's done is set the corner of the tile on the line. doing it like this will leave you w/one side smaller than the other: see how the sides of the window don't match? this is what you don't want. your tile guy should be doing a dry layout in order to determine where he starts so he doesn't get this look or these tiny triangles. Again,,,see how the ends don't match below? the right has longer tiles than the left edge. that's because of the way he started his first tile. And don't do these vertical tiles for your edging. get proper bullnose tiles, pencil liner or a Schluter edge. This is a layout board of my herringbone for my shower. took a few hours in order to get this almost perfect. since this was an odd size, and the tiles were even at 3x12, it couldn't be perfect. the right bottom corner triangle is the only portion that doesn't match. luckily, it's not readily visible! Even the subway tiles are perfectly matched. this layout took hours to get exact, even around the niche. 2x6your 3x9 will be 1/3 larger. 3x9 is a good size for a backsplash. this is a regular 3x6. again, a 3x9 will give you 1/3 longer....See MoreHelp finding hexagon tile for backsplash

Comments (9)your 'hex' is exactly the same as my cube backsplashes I posted. I mean, yes, they have 6 sides, but because of the pattern they look like cubes. (they're actually diamonds or rhomboids fit together to make this pattern) The ones you want for the floor have no design and are a true hexagonal tile. just like this one I posted It' looks straight out of the 60's w/a more modern flair. I wouldn't use the larger cubes for your splash. do something in this size That flagstone you have is original. (if you had it professionally stripped, cleaned and redone, it might look pretty good.) I will tell you, getting that removed is going to be a bear. and if you stripped the white paint from your ceiling, you'd fine some fine wood hiding underneath. It's a cute kitchen. look up mcm style or 1960 redone galley kitchens and get ideas. I'd redo the ceiling and bring it back if possible. I'd also do cabinets like shown above. do the hex floor and the white cube splash. bring in color w/accessories. period appropriate but modern. this is not mcm. at all. It's modern style in all gray. mid century was about color and natural wood. the only thing slightly retro about this kitchen is the cube backsplash. if you like, there are plenty of places to order it. 2 years agoCan you continue your countertop up the backsplash?
Or here, they have the marble on the backsplash and a solid shape on the floor--you could do this but opposite, with a solid white herringbone on the backsplash. To @lucky998877's point, maybe make the herringbone larger than these so not everything is mini/busy.

The smaller mosaics will be too much. you already have the floor. pick something a bit larger for the wall. Although, this super smaller herringbone w/the matching white grout could work. It's Bedrosians
