Lighten or remove new stain on cedar siding?

LH CO/FL

Builder applied/sprayed two coats of Superdeck stain to our house (stone and tight-knot cedar) and the color is a lot darker and redder than our approved sample which was one lightly. brushed coat. We hate the color, and builder acknowledges the mistake. Now what?

We're afraid that sanding will remove the coating on the hot-dipped galvanized nails and also be hard to get into areas that abut stone facade.

Would a chemical stripper work? Bleach? What product would anyone suggest?

We wanted a rich honey-brown and have an ugly dark redwood. :(
