Comments (41)Wooo!!! Cat, I am stuck at home because of the snow storm so wandered around here not looking at anything in particular and came upon your thread. I totally agree with you on the shower curtain choice. Regardless of whether I have the money to spare or not, keeping those suckers clean is a nuisance over time. We have a glass shower door that was installed back in 2003 and I can't tell you how much I hate cleaning it. Not that the door is all that dirty, but a shower curtain is way easier, and you can change the look/style whenever you feel like it. Can't do that with a pricey shower door. Anyway, everything looks lovely as usual, including the "prom" dress :-) Love, love those circular tiles, and the floor tiles that look like fabric. Gorgeous. What colour is that again? It looks greyish on my monitor....See MoreAdvice on bathroom fixtures
Comments (5)You don't need to spend a fortune, but don't cheap-out either. You want something with a finish that won't tarnish/discolor easily, esp in a bathroom environment, and you want something with some heft, or weight (not flimsy). We used Ginger's Motiv line of products (Sine and Frame) in all three of our bathrooms and are very happy with them. Lower-priced than the Ginger line, but quality is excellent....See MoreHelp with color white selection for bathroom remodel
Comments (4)Hi putzie 1, Have to disagree about the bathroom appearing smaller (even with a low ceiling) because when you paint a 5x7 white square on top of your wall paint colour it just brings attention to the fact that it is a small room (nothing wrong with that - by the way)! Maybe some other people can weigh in about the wall and ceiling colour being the same colour. It actually does not make a room look bigger - but it does stop your eye from starting and stopping at different sight lines, so you get a smoother and more cohesive feel in the room. Don't try it if you are not convinced, but if unsure, try it both ways and see IRL what you prefer. Good luck and maybe some OP's who have done this will give you their experience. Your choices sound very nice - no matter what colour ceiling!...See More1956 Red bathroom, looking for advice
Comments (16)Yes, go with Pal's suggestions! You can probably also remove the track from the tub. I have taken off a couple of those myself. They are usually screwed with two screws on each side, one top, one bottom. The bottom rail on the tub will likely be stuck in place with silicone caulk, and elbow grease will eventually get it off. Does anyone have advice for shining up those maroon porcelain fixtures? What products should he use to try to bring back the shine?...See MoreLisa T
