Accent color for white/cream couches and brown tables
Comments (12)Thanks ya'all. Update: Green is one of my accent color - i found some green pillows that looked amazing with black and white(cream actually) Who knew? Now I am just stuck with choices for curtains. I do like the idea of chocolate colored drapes but am afraid that would be too much brown considering I have brown tables, the couch has brown legs. The style of the room is not traditional but not quite contemporary either. The room that kathy posted is very elegant, love the color. That and the cappucino are top contenders in my mind. Since i cant afford to go custom with my drapes and have no sewing skills whatsoever I am at the mercy of PB, JCP, BBB and Linens & Things for available colors in curtains. Keep those ideas coming Thanks again Nami...See MorePaint color for navy blue couches
Comments (14)I am so jealous of all your dark blue couches----- I have been trying to replace some medium blue couches and can only find beige. Anyway, I have beige carpet and the walls are shaker beige (Benjamin Moore) and it looks great with the blue couches. I agree that yellow or beige would be lovely. I am not a fan of grey too much( but it is very popular lately)...See Morebright color to go with tan jute rug?
Comments (10)You are going to love the white walls. After so many years (decades) of avoiding white we finally took the plunge and went whire. I am so glad we did, so light and bright and a good backdrop for the furniture and art. I love the white and off-white room that Maureen posted. It is calming. Get some white or off-white slipcovers for your Wingbacks and armchair. I think the pale gray sofa is fine. That arwork is so serene. Nature or getaway inspired, good idea. You have some framed art with architecture, swap those with new nature prints you love and white mattes. Bring in some white accents too. Spray paint some things white and cream- those green spindle lamps, the gray side table, the cane chair, etc. That example room has very few accent colors but it is just enough. And look at that neutral rug very nice. Great inspiration room. I just noticed your log table, stuff like that will be perfect in your new space. Wait till you see your neutral window coverings against the the white wall. This is gonna look so nice. Keep us posted, I can't wait for you to get started and see some progress. Go buy some spray paint today and start with the green lamp bases, why not?...See MoreBuying couch to go with Moroccan rug
Comments (18)@BeverlyFLADeziner that's what I was thinking. That beautiful rug may be too small to be an area rug. @Chelsea Downs, what are the dimensions of the rug? It's the perfect design inspiration piece. The other question I had, seeing suggestions of pink and white, is who lives here? @Chelsea Downs are you living alone or are there kids, pets, and menfolk to make comfortable too? I love the idea of picking up the two tones of blue, the coral, and accesorizing with some gold accents that also are in the rug. It would be nice to think of the room as a whole when deciding on a sofa color. @Chelsea Downs, you mentioned you thought of a brown sofa originally. Were you thinking of leather? Perhaps a cognac leather? Or a Cordovan leather? There's quite a range of leather colors. And leather often appeals to people or guests with allergies. It also provides a very touchable texture. It can be cool to sit on in winter but also nice for that reason in summer. Leather and wood are nice natural materials to add some brown to a room. You have wood floors. So if you go brown, I think leather is nice. Are you replacing the light blue loveseat in your photo or do you want this new sofa to coordinate with it? When I look at your room I want to add more cream. But it doesn't have to be a sofa. Also, ignore the style of sofa in my pictures. It looks like your style is trending to mid-century modern?...See MoreRelated Professionals
