A little saying….Be Particular. My oldest DGD and I almost always use it when signing off and have since she was little. Also I think we invented ‘Love you to the moon and back’, except I used to substitute ’moon’ with a planet or constellation and tell them it was further than the moon. The kids would learn the planets in school but when I started throwing constellations out, they would go look them up.

My mother always tells me she loves me more than I'll ever know. I'm almost 70, and she just had her 90th birthday. That's always something she's said to me, and it makes my heart sing.

I always say ”I love you” when saying goodbye. And when I text my DD I always end with ”LYF” or ”LYBF” for ”love you forever“ or ”love you both forever”.

Grandson and I are bonded. I'm always GRANDMAMA and he's always my #1.

My son (now adult) and I frequently say I love you throughout the day. When my mother was in her last days, I would tell her 'I love you more than chocolate'. She would sometimes respond with 'that's a lot' because she knew how much I love chocolate ;o)

With husband, "Did you know that I love you more today then I did yesterday, and that was an awful lot!"

Husband, "Still love you more!"

Corny, I know! 😆

In our family of all boys, you will hear one of us say to a brother, You are such a disappointment compared to your sister.

I always sign texts, cards etc. to our son: LYTM&TFS! (love you the most, and that's for sure)

In return, he replies: Impossible--I love you the most. Corny, but it always makes me happy.

My DH and I used to use the hand sign above. It says "I love you" in American Sign Language (the I, L and Y together. ) when we were in college, we would leave notes on each other's cars in passing, and we always signed them with that sign. Haven't done that in years, but then we rarely leave notes any more.

Whenever DH and I leave the house we always say a line from the old Hill Street Blues: "Let's be careful out there."

I always close my Texts, E-mails, Letters, etc., to my Grandson's with:

"Remember What Pooh Bear says"....

And This Is The Quote We Mean:

"You're Braver Than You Believe,

And Stronger Than You Seem

And Smarter Than You Think"

And, sometimes on the phone: "How lucky am I to have something that makes

saying goodbye so hard" another Quote by Pooh.

Pooh was one of our favorite reads (over and over) when they were young).

Not something we do everybday but....we all have private jokes that we use. For example if my oldest says, “Mark Twain” it has absolutely nothing to do the author.

"Who's the guy with the hammer?" (Thor) Says someone is completely clueless. And then we laugh and laugh.

One time when my daughter was a toddler, I asked her how much she loved me. Her answer was "Two eight.". Forever, thereafter if I asked my husband a question that included an amount, he would almost always say, "Two eight."

Growing up it was a family tradition to have popcorn Sunday evenings as the big Sunday meal was around noon.

Yeah, this isn't a mushy one but I always smile when I say it. Whenever we were leaving somewhere, my mom would say "have you got 'em all?" mostly meaning did you leave anything behind but also meaning do you have all your marbles? We used to get a lot of laughs out of that. Of course when I say it to my friends now, they just think I have lost my marbles. Still makes me smile..

My DH and DD always do a "thumb kiss" goodbye.

My son's 31st birthday is today. When he was just learning to write, he would transpose his b's and d's. His name is Ted, but we used to call him Teddy when he was younger. So he used to write his name Tebby istead of Teddy, and I still call him Tebby especially on occasions such as his birthday.

We have a returning rather than a leaving tradition of making key lime pie as a treat to celebrate whenever someone has returned from a journey of more than a day or two.

We facetime a lot. I send a heart emoji when we finish the conversation.

In my family, you are very sarcastic to the people we love. If you are getting picked on, it means we love you. Conversations often start or end with an insult.

Whenever someone would ask my (late) husband and me how long we’d been married, I usually was the one who would pipe up with the # of years. If I said 12, for example, he’d always say, ”Only 12? It seems like a lifetime!”
