I have been cutting my own hair for about 25 years. I have gone a couple of times in the middle of that to have someone else cut it...but they just don't get it right..or at least I don't think they do. I also cut my DH's hair and used to cut my boys' hair when they were little.

Used to cut familys hair too..but I just don't want to anymore. So I don't.

I go every 8 weeks or so to get my haircut,but in between when it's getting too long and losing the body,i use one of those razor combs and trim it myself.

I cut dh hair every couple of weeks and when my boys were young and at home i cut their hair as well.

No way will I even attempt to cut my hair.
DD and I were just laughing about the time I decided to cut her bangs......I read you should apply some scotch tape to the bangs to keep the hair from falling in the kids eyes.
I didn't allow for the width of the tape and her bangs stuck straight out for weeks, is seems.
I am surprised DH lets me trim his neck line every couple of weeks.

I do, but with varying degrees of success. Sometimes I have to throw myself at the mercy of a stylist.

I used to cut my DH's hair all the time, but that was his idea. He had more confidence than I in the outcome.

I went to hairstyling school many years ago, but never graduated. I have always cut my own hair, and used to cut my boys' hair too. Once in awhile, I'll treat myself and go get a complete treatment at a salon.

My hairdresser promised to trim my bangs for free if I promised not to touch them myself!!

I wouldn't dare! I do trim the bangs. I badly need a haircut. Got a short one just before we moved and thought I'd be good for a while, but it's way too long for my liking now.

Had a good laugh, Carol in CA--I did the very same thing to my DD and to this day, she'll cringe if she sees me with scissors. She'll do that cross sign with her hands--like keep that demon away from me.

Yes Glenda I cut my own hair. Sometimes it does look better/worse than others... but mostly I am ok with the outcome.

Right now, I am due a cut. Maybe I'll do it in the morning, after my exercises... and before my shower. ;)

I used to cut my former spouse's hair until he decided he didn't want me to do anything for him because he might owe me something...

And I cut a coworker's hair for a while, after his mother (who had cut his hair) died.

I trim my bangs, but I let a trained haircutter cut my hair.

I whack at my bangs every now and then when they get too long. But I have my own personal barber, DH cuts my hair and has for years. He cuts his own hair and has ever since we have been married, 46 years +. He went to barber school the first year we were married but never worked as a barber as about that time long hair for men was in. Paid off thought cutting all the hair in the family thru the years.

Yes I do cut my own hair Glenda, my sons were grown and married before getting their first "professional" cut lol. Actually the middle DS told me he got his first barber shop cut from the Army ;0)

I get mine cut about twice a year, when my own trimming doesn't look good anymore.

Trimmed my bangs a few times in high school and that was enough. I don't even know how trained professionals can do it (one lady had me flip my hair upside down and cut it-somehow turned out good??)

I'm a bang trimmer myself, my hairdresser knows I prefer my bangs shorter and after each cut she'll ask how it is, I'll let her know she can shorten my bangs, then usually three weeks later I'm hacken' at 'em myself again.

I did a month ago for the first time and I got more compliments than when I got it cut by my hairdresser! Every time she cut my hair, I'd watch carefully what she did. Then I did it myself.

Yes I cut my own hair, easy since it's long and straight. Wear it pulled back, twisted up. Have worn it short but it grows so fast trimmed it myself between haircuts.

Many years ago DD and I worked summers in a "living history village" and I let my hair grow, more fitting for a woman in the mid 1800's, never went back to short hair.

I* have been known to do a little trim once in a while but I would never have the nerve to do a real cut on my own hair!!!

No. But my husband cuts his hair. He cuts it short about once a year and then it grows out. He looks so nice with short hair, he should keep it short. He hasn't had a store bought hair cut in about 18 - 20 years and the last time he did, the gay hairdresser hit on him...invited him to a party.

I cut my hair most of the time and give myself perms. I also cut DH's hair all the time, and groom the Yorkie.

I have trimmed mine, but never anything drastic, would like to though.

I did for years because I hate going to hairdressers since most of them don't understand English LOL. Then, I found someone who did as I asked and kept going after she moved away because I hate cutting it myself.

I've been cutting my own hair for years, with an occasional "shape up" from a hairdresser. I know exactly how I want it cut, and I seldom get a satisfactory cut from the hairdresser. Bettye

I do my bangs and the back neck sometimes. My hair is very straight, and fine and shows ALL chop marks, mistakes, whatever. I have an inverted bob, a very precise haircut and can not do it myself!

I've cut my own hair for over 30 yrs. I have short, close cropped hair, and these days it's super thin (old age :0) & keep it short all the time so I mainly cut the longer hair in the back & on the sides of my face in front of my ears. It's super easy & quick. I have barber shears at home & they work fine. Sure saves a bunch of $$$.

I've been doing the "Flobbie" for a couple of yeas but a couple of weeks ago when checking out of Walmart I spotted a lady with the haircut I really liked and asked her if I could borrow her for a few minutes to show the hair dresser in the Beauty Salon. So I dragged her there and asked if aanyone there could cut my hair like hers and one gal Jill, said she could.
I thanked the lady (who had a good story to tell when she got home) and Jill commenced to cut, wash, set and comb mine out. It was great.

I think I told this story here sometime in the past week or so. I've been back once and plan to go the end of this week. It is nice to find a gal who does what you want her to do!!

I cut mine as well. I just never found anyone to do it as I liked but I'm tempted to get a first class cut.

I have been cutting my own hair since I was 15. I have gone 2 time in that time to the salon. First was to cut it short I had it long the next was at my daughters request to see what someone else could do. I've not been back since. I cut both the kids when they were little. I also did my husbands until he started getting thin on top.

I have cut my own several times also I used to perm, color and highlight (bleach)
my own hair! I used to have my cosmetology license for 15 years and my Mom
had her cosmetology license along with her manger license so I was around hair for a long time.
