LP has info on their website.

Often B&B is not really board and batten, but rather 4' wide panels with applied battens.

As an installer I much prefer the LP product (easier to work with and has longer lengths) and over the past 12 years, have seen no difference in durability.

As for your design, I'll suggest if you are using a mix of siding, do it by floor and not by face.

I tried to look on LP’s site but it’s not clear the size board it would come with. James Hardie has it simply described as 12” or 16” boards. I may have to call them and get more info.

I have heard that LP is easier to install and may lower my overall quote when pricing. Another reason I was considering it but I really want the wider looks in between the battens since I plan on doing the whole face.

I did consider the first floor in horizontal siding but When I used the siding tool, I didn’t care for it and I didn’t just want to do the peek of the house. I’ve seen a few houses in the area with the whole face BB and loved it has to be with the 16” look or it’s too busy. The face of my house is also not very wide.
