Hi. If you do have more than one kid one day, you’ll be happy they each have their own sink space and you’ll want a tub. You might want to print out a couple of pieces of graph paper ( maybe making each square one foot). Draw the space on the graph paper. Get some tub, door, vanity (etc)measurements and draw them on the separate paper…. Then slide them around. We drew a lot of these trying to figure out bathrooms. Maybe the closet gets shifted or turns into a reach in closet. We went as far as drawing rooms out in chalk in the driveway and road to make sure there was room to move around.

I generally dislike jack and Jill bathrooms (and I have kids), but I actually think that’s a pretty nice layout. It’s nice that each room has its own sink area, which is different than what we normally see. I agree to enlarging the shower and I wouldn’t want to lose a closet.

I think this is a fine set up. Change the shower to a larger one - there is a tub in the hall bathroom as well as a toilet . Although if you do a tub, then you can have a curtain, just incase someone forgets to lock the other door! if someone really has to go and someone is in the shower. Each room having its own vanity area is very nice.

I also like this arrangement with the separate sinks. Would have worked much better for my kids (boy and a girl) who had to share one double vanity. Girl's stuff always encroaching on boy's space... My only recommendation is to see if you can prevent doors from banging into each other as you enter that upper, left sink area - pocket door, sliding door, etc.

i like your vision -- simpler but better than present.

IMO you need 2 bathrooms no J&J for sure and also no toilet room IMO in any bathroom . No one should be using the toilet while someone else is in the bathroom .Why are you allowing a contractor to make design decisions ?

The contractor is proposing a Master ensuite, not a bath to be shared by 2 rooms.

Functionally, the existing layout is the better version of J&J layouts.
