Help with mis matching hardwood floors

I accidentally chose two completely different hardwoods adjacent to each other. Wider plank was in the apartment when I bought it and I messed up and chose more narrow plank for hallway.
Is there any reasonable way to fix it like toning the new floor darker or should I go for expensive replacement?

I had the exact same issue. Initially they thought they could do it. But my house is old and when they did the demo they said the way they did the spacing of the supports under the wood on the older section cannot be duplicated today and the floor would never look even and the old section would always be a little higher and "squeaky". Ended up doing the whole floor. However, the hallways are old hardwood as well and the transition (via a doorway) seems fine.

I had the same situation in my house that we just sold. I found it an opportunity to put a floor cloth (I painted) to bring some decor into the room. What's your counter top? As much as I love the look of blue slate up against a wood floor, it would look weird if it is the ONLY punch of blue/gray in the entire kitchen. If in doubt, look to your counter tops to help pick your floor. You'd be surprised at how beautiful old wood floors finish up! I also have 2 different floorings. I have Pergo laminate flooring (that I love) in my kitchen and bathroom / laundry rooom that has been discontinued. My entry hallway transitions into my kitchen. When I replaced some dark slate flooring in my entryway hall, I chose Italian porcelain wood look tile flooring and tried to match it as best I could to the Pergo. When I had a new oak staircase installed, the carpenter who specializes in staircases, matched the staircase wood stain to my Italian porcelain wood tile flooring.

Different species and cuts to by the looks of it. I would probably stain it the same if possible and be done with it.
