I came across him months ago and have watched most of his videos. Lots of good information and he is fun to watch. I don't know how he takes care of his huge garden. I wish I had someone like him to take care of mine.

I live in YouTube rabbit holes. I have used it several times to check out how to do things...like take apart my vacuum cleaner, to find out what is wrong with my washing machine, plus many, many cooking videos...even on things I know how to cook and like my own recipes, but want to see how other people do it and maybe end up tweaking mine. I watch motivational videos, sometimes when I think I need someone to kick my @$$ and get me out of a funk. Many others....I will definitely check him out. I grew some really nice tomatoes last year that came up by accident from scraps I threw out, and I was thinking I really ought to get back into vegetable gardening. I used to have a big garden, but when I moved to the bayou, we had that gumbo soil that you talk about. I wouldn't even call it soil....it was pure clay, and the place prior to that had beautiful soil and you could plant a toothpick and grow a pine tree. This place is the total opposite end of the spectrum. It is so sandy, you'd think you are at the beach. But, it doesn't get muddy....so that is a plus. However, I have "10 soil amendment making machines" on this place, so I can make plenty of compost. (Talking about the equines).

I like to watch videos of people who are renovating chateaus in France. My favorite is a charming couple - she's English and he's from the South Tyrol - who have a channel titled "How to Renovate a Chateau (Without Killing your Partner)." I discovered YouTube during the pandemic and it's now my favorite form of entertainment. I love all of these imaginative people living corporate-independent lifestyles or supporting interesting hobbies. I enjoy their stories much more than anything available on scripted television/streaming.

There is a great YouTube gardening show called Garden Answer. Some of her advice does not apply to my area but I enjoy watching her and learning about different aspects of landscape gardening and veggie gardening.

I like to watch Vito Lacopelli's pizza videos. I like his recipes and his techniques, and I've learned a lot from him.

While I can grow the same plants that are grown in Australia, I have a difficult time listening to a strong Australian accent (mild ones are okay), and so I put subtitles on for people like Self Sufficient Me and turn the sound off or way down. I love Italian accents OTOH. What is worse, however, is the computer generated voices or people who have sing-song inflection - I turn that off as well, including voice-rise inflection and vocal fry (like the Kardashians). This keeps me from going down too many Youtube rabbit holes! I find many Youtubers to be overly annoying, and so that limits how much I watch.

I watch an English woman and how she cares for and trains her 3 horses and Horse Shelter Heroes who rescue horses from auctions. And there's the parrot who sings while its owner plays the guitar. Lightweight stuff.

Jmck_nc, I love Garden Answer, too. It's so different than other gardening channels and I like the variety. Laura and her family are such great people and I like them so much.
