What are the chances of a new forum?
Comments (6)There is a forum here that deals with pests and diseases. I don't know how quickly questions are answered there. You can find it here: http://forums.gardenweb.com/forums/pests/ Also, your local Cooperative Extension office may provide fast identification of both insects and diseases. The link below will get you to your county office. Good luck. I know how you feel about wanting a fast ID when something shows up in your garden! Comments (7)If the trees are well stored they have been kept dormant by refrigeration and should come out of dormancy late but otherwise in normal health. There is plenty of season left for trees to grow and store energy. The hard part, I think, will be getting any crop from a Euro plum in North Carolina judging from posts I've read here. As far as the tree with loose potting soil, that is like moving a tree that has been healed in and then moved well after the point the tree leafs out. I've done that many times and the tree should recover from the shock, I think, but won't grow much this season. It does depend on a lot of factors, though, such as how hot is is after transplanting and humidity. When I've done this, trees have only been leafed out 3-4 weeks....See MoreWhat are the chances these bearing wall?
Comments (6)My guess would be its an LVL beam (or equivalent) with 4x4 posts on each end, and its boxed in sheetrock to hide the beam and posts. If you can see the framing from the basement you can look for a beam or post directly under each end in the basement below. That would be a telltale sign of load transfer to the floor below. Comments (2)60F is right on the edge of what bananas will be able to grow in. Are you sure you can't get the temperature to 65F during the non-winter months? Especially for very young bananas, they are much more sensitive to temperature. Here, you might see this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhJloTO6VS8...See Moreroxanna
