I don't personally like tile at all. But that isn't the question here. I'm not ever going to be in the market for a high-7 figure home. I sincerely doubt most people on GW or Houzz are, either. I have mixed flooring materials in my home. We have 75-yr old red oak random width flooring on the main floor. When we picked the LVP I chose a woodgrain that had a similarly warm tone, but was distinctly different. If we had chosen wood-look tile, I would have done the same thing. Something in the overall tonal range, but intended to harmonize, not match. Even to put in HW through the entire house, I would probably still pick different woods for separate floors. I've been in houses that used the same wood flooring everywhere and there was just something a little too 'matchy-matchy' about it, for my liking.

The tile install costs are far cheaper for us. We live in Luxembourg where houses are almost always tiled as a matter of course, so wood/LVT/laminate is sort of a specialty installation and costs are insane. They don't do cheap materials here--it's very Germanic in the approach to building and everything is high quality and built to last a lifetime, which also makes materials extremely expensive. The house is an off-plan purchase (we bought the shell ready for the first fix) and as such we are contracted to use the building company to do big things like the flooring. Tile was included in the original purchase contract (because they have a professional tile guy in-house), which essentially means we don't have to pay extra for labour to have it installed, just for the extra material costs as the tile we want is more expensive. With wood or any other material, they outsource the materials and labour for installation as it's not their specialty, so we pay extra costs for that. Just as an example, the cost to put wood floors on the stairs was going to be 7k extra per staircase. A slightly nicer tile (50 eur/sqm) only costs us about 400 extra per staircase.

I ended up doing the entire condo. The installer and place I purchased from gave me a better deal if I did it all.

since they're bedrooms, you can get away with 'close'. I'd take the tiles with you so you can try and get a similar color match. don't worry too much about the size, just try and get a color match. But, only if you plan on keeping those other tiles for another 10 years. If not, switch it up! if you don't like the look of the current tile and plan to redo it one day, then get something else that you prefer. You could do something lighter Can you do real wood? Will you be doing the tiling yourself? tile costs can be similar to a floating wood install. so if you can afford the real wood, I'd go that route Cork tiles are a good idea too, but it's not a cheap alternative. since you're looking at tile, what if you did a 24x24 porcelain tile? maybe like a black slate? would that work? or what about these limestone looking porcelain tiles? I think these would be better options than using another wood-look tile, which is on it's way out. This way when it comes time to redo the rest of the outside area, you could switch to anything and have it match the bedroom.
