Comments (12)Thanks everybody. She WAS funny dragging the apple bags along. She insisted on doing it herself and yes Marian the apples WERE worse for the wear, lol. She was so proud to show them to Megan when she came to pick her up though. Saucy, I often wonder where the years went too. It seems like one day you wake up and they're all grown up. That's what's so neat about being a grandma. You realize how fast it all goes, time is precious, and focus more on each moment, just enjoying them. Martie, I think it would be wonderful if someday Isabella and McKenzie get to meet one another. Who knows, maybe they'll be the next generation that carries on the Idylls! How about that Michelle? Comments (7)Hey guys Thanks for the advice. Several things are working against us though... First, I had divided them up - and there were babies in each clump, and they came apart pretty easy, either way - so my guess is both were planted in clumps, to begin with. Second, Size - Different growing conditions, etc - radical variance in size - And to begin with, all of mine were approx the same size - from several sources, so age vs size is indeterminable. Comments (17)Well, of course I like the Mariner's compass. I was just seeing what everyone else thought! Yes, I actually made the mariner's compass. I fussy cut the printed triangles to get the kaleidescope affect. The cream & drk brown triangle sections are paper pieced, and the green was cut with a tempate. A lot of inset seams...I'm better at them now than I was before! I will need to applique a small circle (probably brown) to the center...the points barely meet and will fray during the wash. It doesn't need to be larger than a nickel. MRG~ This is all regular paper pieced...sewn pieces to paper. English paper piecing is hand pieced around a stiff template and then the template is removed. Still lots to do with it, but I'm thrilled! And keep going downstairs to stare at it! Comments (1)The company Structur Inc out of San Francisco has regional brands, but I haven't heard the Villa Bella name. Looks new to me, but some mixed with Bella Cera.
