A Honeymoon Cottage for Edward and Bella
As 'The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn' premieres, we scout out some getaways for the pale pair
I admit it. I'm pushing 40, I read all of the Twilight books and I already have solid plans to go see Breaking Dawn: Part 1 this weekend. 'Fess up — are any of you planning to see it? I only go to see the fabulous scenery and architecture (that's about as true as people saying they get certain lad mags for the articles). Seriously though, the scenery and the architecture in the movies makes up for a lot of the cheese factor — you have the Hoke House by Skylab Architecture serving as the Cullen's home, Montepulciano Italy serving as Volterra and the magnificent woods of the Pacific Northwest serving as a sublime backdrop.
Breaking Dawn should bring us a few new memorable abodes, including a private island off South America and a honeymoon cottage in the woods where Bella and Edward will have some privacy from the rest of the vampire clan. From what I remember from the book, this was a very romantic stone cottage right out of a fairy tale. I'm curious to see what the location scouts and set designers do with this. Here are some possibilities.

Hoke House + Stone = This Stunning Cottage. If I had to pick the perfect counterpart for the Hoke House to have tucked nearby in the woods, it would be this modern gem.
Because the woods are full of creeks and ravines, a modern steel bridge would provide a scene-stealing entry to Bella and Edward's cabin.
For a more rustic vibe, this cozy cabin in the wood looks warm and inviting.
Perhaps the couple would like to have their cottage nestled between the woods and a field, so that Bella can admire Edward's skin glistening like diamonds in the sunlight.
The cottage should definitely have a magical garden path like this.
Because vampires don't sleep, their cottage will be lit up like a lantern all night long.
If the cottage is more traditionally romantic, a flowing mosquito net will go with the flowery writing.
This romantic bedroom is perfect for the newlyweds. It's airy and light with a rustic cathedral ceiling and is lit by a stunning silk Fortuny chandelier.
Well, just like Rosalie warned in Eclipse, Edward and Bella won't be able to grow old and sit on rocking chairs on their front porch, because they will be teenagers forever. However, a pair of rockers in a setting like this appeals to couples of all ages.
After the honeymoon period is over and they move back into the main house, Bella and Edward's room will probably look something like this, so they can jump right out the windows into the trees.
