Help me - exterior paint color issue!
Hi there! We had our home repainted about a year ago. I have since had the eves and gutters updated (from SW “black fox”) to SW “caviar” because black fox looked too close in tone to the main house color (SW “Laurel woods.”) And although it appears to be white, I also repainted the window frames, pillars, and around the garage in SW “mindful gray” in place of SW “pure white” that looked very stark against the green.
You may be thrown off just as we are- in that we can’t seem to get this to look cohesive.
Oh and when the house was first repainted, the garage was also in black fox- of which just looked off, so I repainted it the main house color, and it seemed to be a big improvement. The garage trim, however, is now one of the issues, along with possibly the window frames? Thinking those need to go black also… please help me!!

Comments (4)Thank you, he has agreed to repaint the areas with issues, but laid the guilt trip on us because we want to hold back $1200 out of the $7000. We thought that was reasonable and it would get him back in a timely fashion. Are we holding back to much?? We have been burnt before by workmen not returning, but the problem lies in that we know this man well and our kids are friendly....ah!! Rule number one...do not hire someone you know as approaching them about an issue is difficult!! Hiring someone you'll never see again would have made it much easier. Comments (4)Of the two colors you are considering, I think Blue Depths is a better color. A pergola, like this in white from your front door along the side of the building would look really charming. The lattice is very pretty. Comments (9)Yes, that is a very peachy orange color. I first thought neutral bone/beige but your photo with the lower stone section seems to have a lot of red tones, even in the darker brick. I'm no expert so i would be relying on sample cards, in various tones, and taping them against the brick to view. Some might obviously not work but those that do might be worth a sample pot painted onto large sheets and go through the process again......See MoreHelp me find exterior paint colors

2 years agoI’m no pro, but I would paint out all the light trim the same as the house color and just go with the few black accents you already have. Add some brass accessories? House numbers, lighting, etc. Some black planter and perhaps two black metal awnings over your upper windows. Cedar front door would look beautiful too…
