Holly-kay - I love my koi paper too, but for the back of bookshelves (which will really be display shelves) I have had my eye open for something more subtle, but textural, and that could stand up to the rest of the house ;) Mtn - I am fickle, too, so I have used the wallpaper sparingly with the exception of the koi in the powder room which does define the entire room. Now that I see how "easy" it is to use paper, I feel less nervous about using it more, if that makes any sense. Maybe I should learn how to hang paper myself? Im on board with you Beth. I love the look too. But I think I would do black at the bottom and a gold ceiling. I had a similar look a several years ago. I also love the sink with the black legs. BUT..... It would take a minor miracle for me to get my dh to agree to changing the sink at the moment. He just agreed to painting the awful honey oak kitchen cabinets that he seems to be in love with. Also while I am really drawn to the color black, my kitchen/dining room are black and I am painting my kitchen cabinets black. The powder room seperates the kitchen/dining room and the living room. I dont want everything to look all matchy matchy. But thats silly because I have 3 black walls right now. LOL How do you think it would look if that black and white paper were on all 4 walls, floor to ceiling? I ask that after I have stated several times that I only want to do one wall. OMG my mind changes with the wind. I wonder how that would look with the rest of my decor.

Thanks for going back and forth on this with me. I definitely want a pendant. (Just one since I don’t think there’s enough room for two.) I think the pendant will help being the ceiling down. if I install a pendant, then would o get rid of the light above the sink? Probably right? In which case maybe I would install a cluster. I also have considered a lighted mirror. Here are a few inspiration photos. I agree that tile might work behind mirror … it needs texture of some sort. I think some of your ideas about wood on the ceiling are too much for me to tackle. Trying to streamline.

@Allison0704 @amykath Thank you. It really isnt too hard. I have hung wallpaper before, for my mother when I was probably 15. She handed me the rolls, and a tub of wallpaper paste and said do this. It really isn't complicated, it's fiddly. The wallpaper I used was very easy to work with. They print the specific # of rolls you want, and they have varying lengths you can order depending on ceiling height. Pattern-wise the top of every roll is the same. This makes it very easy to pattern match. Cutting around outlets and obstacles, like thermostat, is a little hard. Working in a small space is challenging. The first thing they tell you on the Spoonflower website, is 'recruit a friend.' Well there is no way two people were fitting in my powder room. Fortunately I also watched a video on YouTube and she started with, "I am going to do this by myself, it's perfectly OK to do this with 1 person." She actually also addressed my biggest concern was how to handle the fact that my house is crooked, it's over 100 years and there is not a true, plumb, wall anywhere. She stressed not to line up to the ceiling, but to drop a plumbline and line up your first strip to that. That definitely helped me. I also, deliberately picked a pattern that had swoops and curves to hide my home's quirks.
