I would do a new island and appliances and floors. Look at cabinet refacing if you like where your cabinets are. They can put new fronts on them for less, and change the cutouts if you need a slight adjustment for new appliances.

older interior kitchens similar to yours most of the time benefit from a total redo if the kitchen remains in this boundary. Lacking windows means the space has to carefully be put together for the best result. do you have a sketch or pic of adjacent spaces.? and budget ?

IMO a redo since having cabinets painted is expensive and the upper cabinets look like they wee replaced but the base ones look old . The island has to go and that will create the need for flooring and IMO if you are going that far redo the kitchen BTW refacing costs as much as new cabinets This is tiny space so switch the cooktop for a range and get rid of the wall ovens , a counter depth fridge for sure all plain old stainless appliances . If you truly want help here we need a to scale floor plan of the space how it relates to the rest of house and what you think your budget is. Use graph paper to do the plan it makes doing scaled easier . Show all meaurements clearly and make sure the drawing can be enlarged.Waht are the floors in the spaces around the kitchen , is thre a reason for the arch in that doorway? Is this for resale or for your own use for years to come?

Sorry, but I would start over (if you have the funds to do this). By the time you make all of those other corrections you may just as well get a new layout and new cabinets.

But, due to supply chain issues I might wait a bit.

This is the actual house blueprint from the original builder. I would like to stay within 30k budget. Honestly I really don't love the way the kitchen layed out but I don't know what to do without major wall knock downs. My concerns with the island is keeping it as much counter space as possible without blocking any walkways right now when the oven or the fridge is opened you cannot get into the kitchen from that side an it frustrates me to no end. But I am all for reconfiguring things

If your budget will support a redo, including changing layout, I would definitely do that.

I would love any suggestions on layout changes too. This is the room from wider angles (sorry about the mess)

there's a big hallway all around the backside of the angled wall. looks like three entry points coming in from more hallways into this bigger hall. If you reduced the angled wall to make an island without those pinchpoints on each end [fridge and oven] it could be a nice adjustment to make quite a few different things work out. I guess considering the possibilities I would calculate the amount of good storage you want for your particular situation. I see a pantry..does that work? does the nook work? so you'll get drawer storage and a better island and keep the pantry..???. If you can spec the amount and type of storage then figuring out how much of that wall needs to be utilized can be calculated and then what sort of change to the island follows.

looking closer at pics now..what if you had the one longer wall [fridge wall]..and part of the side that angles I suppose.......can the other side wall be greatly reduced or completely taken out? use a range when you choose appliances.. / a longer rectangular island with stools facing the one wall might work.......get a pad of graph paper and just start....

I think I’d get new cabinets.
For me - I don’t really love the arches on the uppers.
And the lowers are a bit old... there fine if you like a flat panel. And could work. But I feel like you may as well get new.

For 30k most of that/all will go to new cabinets.
So you may want to wait a couple until you can do it.
Unless you prefer to take it in stages.

Also, the flooring under the “island” will probably need to be redone. Probably subfloor under there.
What do you want to do about that??
You’ll have to redo the tile or the wood.
Or both.

This is a large scale project. Lots of potential. But take it slow and do it right. 💖
