Curtain clueless

Hello all, this is my first post to houzz! My husband and I just recently bought our first home so I'm sure it won't be the last 😄 My first question is just for general advice on curtains for our master bedroom, as my title says I'm pretty clueless. We have 8ft ceilings, 2 full length windows, 2 half length, and then some sliding glass doors to our deck. In my head I was thinking to have curtain rods near the ceiling and beautiful floor length curtains (I've always loved that look) and some sort of window treatment for light control (I need it dark when I sleep). But the 2 half length windows are kind of behind our furniture, so I'm assuming floor length curtains wouldn't look right there? So I was thinking maybe apron length? Should I match the shorter curtains to the longer ones?
Also one of the floor length windows is very close to the corner (see pics), so somewhat stumped as to what to do there. Only put one panel on one side, or gather the curtain and attach it to the other wall somehow? Then of course there's the sliding glass door... Do I do something completely different from the rest of the room there? 😅
The furniture is just stuff we already had and will eventually be replaced, for the most part I've been going for a light airy look through the house. Any help and advice would be much appreciated!

I would treat all the windows in the same room the same. Floor to ceiling for all. Since you love the ceiling to floor look go with that. the way your windows are hung it really won't make that much of a statement if you hang the rods just outside the casings or above them a few inches. The window near the corner perhaps never opens so the panels just hang and you don't need to worry about the stack. Why not just get black out linings and skip the shades/blinds? That seems like a layering that could be avoided. Light will be a major issue with a sky light--you won't get the DARK you say you need anyway.

If you remove the curb (ledge) then you're creating a "wet room"... that is water can/will flow out onto the actual bathroom floor. That's cool, and great for older people with mobility issues who need to roll into a shower, and its also very European... but the WHOLE bathroom needs to be designed for that, with proper waterproofing to the entire floor and stuff like that. Without seeing your space I would guess you're better off keeping your curb. WE've just been through this design process and researching the glass. It sounds like you'll want a fixed panel (which can be attached to the wall/curb with either clips or U-channel) and a door that's hinged on its adjacent wall. If you google "frameless shower" and look at "images" you will get lots of ideas. If you want the door to actually hinge on the other perpendicular glass panel, you will need a metal support arm over the top of it, which is a different look, IMHO.

Paint: I would wait on selecting a color until you have your furniture and accessories chosen. The present color (in picture anyway) feels washed out and a creamy white would be more modern and crisp. - Built in‘s/tv location: with the width on both sides of fireplace being different, you’ll have to configure bookcases accordingly, if going that route. Suggest holding off on making a mantle change until you figure out wall - try to envision whole wall in your decisions Really like look below - Seating layout: really like your inspiration picture and as per the layout, centre to fireplace. If space in front of window feels bare, you could add the console table there vs behind couch as you enter

So here are a few more pics I snapped to show you the ’other‘ windows in my living room- In these other windows; the afternoon sun blares in strong- so I‘m considering some of those shear soft type fabric shades (maybe they’re called Silhouttes but not certain at this time) that you can raise/lower, open/close & tilt as needed- perhaps I’d get one thats remote control operated-I’d have enough space to have these blinds inside mounted in both upper & lower side windows OR another option I can just put one of these Silhouette type blinds over the top side window & over the lower side window put a matching height drape panels to match the front window drapery panels. Perhaps with both the front lower window & the side lower window with matching drapery it would give my living room a more finished look as well as add more interest to living room. Adjoined to my living room is our dining room- you’ll see our french doors with sideboard swing out doors with screens that lead to the backyard. I prefer not to put any window covering over these french doors & side windows since they would partially block our view. We recently wrapped up our downstairs renovation & the window coverings would be the final touch- well maybe a few hanging wall pictures, plants etc in time. (note- we’ve had our front windows installed gosh… maybe 20+ years ago)?!! Thoughts, suggestions appreciated

I think it might be a lot of curtains if you do it everywhere, on all sides of the room.
So I’d either :

1- Roman shades on the windows by the bed.
And curtains on the sliding door and bigger windows.

Or

2- curtains on the bed wall
And roller shades on the sliding door and bigger windows.
I like the look of both...

Not sure how to respond individually to comments on here, but just want to say a belated thank you too everyone who commented for the help! The ideas and pictures were super helpful helping the choices feel less overwhelming and helping me narrow down what I wanted. I decided to take a combination of the advice and do floor length curtains on all the windows but not on the sliding glass door, and cellular shades on all the windows for light control, and because I just really like the look of that combo. I love the look of Roman shades but we can't afford them ὠ4 I ordered some free samples of the blinds to pick colors, I'll post the after photos once everything is finished!

I love cellular shades and just put them on most of the windows during my renovation. Remember to use room darkening and be mindful that not all companies make the back side of the blind white (hunter douglas does) . You want the exterior to all have the same color….They also make a verta glide for a slider. Very happy with mine. I have a beach house and love the look of sheers on the windows so I also went with that. It’s a classic look for a reason.
