What to do with 200 4x4' terra cotta Talavera tiles?
Comments (5)I never got a detailed invoice but when I talked to the tile in-house designer originally, I remember she checked prices and it was about $5 a tile. I got the floor and ceiling tile from them also and because the talavera was an accent and we didn't order a large quantity, I didn't price it anywhere else. Thanks for the ideas....See MorePaint mavens: what white with BM-01 trim and terra cotta floor?
Comments (3)"Mario Buatta, the New York designer nicknamed the "Prince of Chintz," concocts a mix of Benjamin Moore White and Linen White for many of his neutral rooms." No clue where I got this quote but I saved it because I actually think it's rather genius. Well maybe not GENIUS but I can see how it'd be a good idea in some situations. Wonder if it'd work for you. You don't have to buy gallons to try it. The colors might be available in sample pots. Or just buy quarts and give it a go if you want....See Moregray for terra cotta tiles?
Comments (11)If you look at the Color Gallery on the Benjamin Moore Website, and search Chelsea Gray, and look under the "More Shades" link at the bottom, the following lighter colors are shown: 1611 Gray Tint 1472 Silver Chain 1474 Cape May Cobblestone 1475 Graystone 1471 Shoreline 1473 Gray Huskie round out the upper end of the strip. It's likely that Chelsea Gray is essentially one of the colors on the dark end of the strip with a different name. Try one of these. You could also go white and do White Dove, like you did in the other room....See MoreHickory cabinets, terra cotta floor, need ideas for everything else
Comments (18)Sage green is one of my favorite colors. I wish I could find a photo of it with hickory. Since your cabinets are still open stock, buy a door (or two) to test different colours and see which one you like best for your island. Pictures on the Internet will only help you so much because we can't trust colours on our screens. For the windows, best option will depend on light exposure and how you use the room. For example, if there will be a TV in the living space, there might be glare during the day in which case you'll need something to block that. You might be best served with blinds and curtains. Or solar shades. Might start with inexpensive temporary solutions while you shop around for "best" solution for you. Quality window treatments aren't inexpensive so be prepared for possible sticker shock. Congrats on your new home and all the best with your kitchen!...See Moreroarah
