Walnut Creek, I don't know what interests you but there is a lot to choose from in the category of Amazon Original content. It's free and much of it is very good. I haven't found anything I didn't like but tastes and preferences vary so have fun looking around.

sushipup, I'm sure you know that there's a Free To Me link on Prime Video that provides many choices. Very recent and popular movies aren't free and shouldn't be expected to be so but on Amazon Prime and other sources, many are often available for less than the cost of a box of popcorn in a theater. Cheap.

Being asked to pay a few supplementary bucks for a movie shouldn't offend anyone.

For me, since replacing a monthly DISH bill that was >$100 with YouTube TV at $65 (that under its terms I can use for service at my two different homes, even at the same time) and making more use of services like Amazon Prime and Netflix that I had anyway and was underutilizing, I think the value for money and enjoyment of the small bits of TV we do watch have increased significantly.

Under the Tuscan Sun is wonderful. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. There are so many choices according to what you like.

Sushi, try looking under Free To Me for shows without any upcharge.

Pre-pandemic, we went to a real movie theater maybe twice a year, senior matinee prices and we don't eat popcorn or drink sodas.

And we really don't watch enough TV to bother searching for content, free or not. We watch news and maybe 1 or 2 hours a night, then maybe a couple of athletic events a year. But thank you for the suggestions.

I just hate the 5 and dime process. We actually do get more on Netflix, and if I want to get a DVD in the mail (they still do that, if I change my account preferences), it's not much.

We just watched The Tomorrow War on Prime and Red Notice on Netflix. We thought BOTH were outstanding!

The above comments sure don't match my experience! I joined Amazon Prime almost solely for its streaming service. Unless I choose to watch something that carries an additional tariff, my bill is the same every month. No nickel and diming and the cost is less than a single senior matinee charge to steam as many movies and TV shows as I can squeeze in.

I actually prefer Prime to Netflix. A much better selection of programs and IMO, a much higher caliber of original productions than Netflix manages to produce.

Another recommendation for Mrs. Maisel - start watching now because the new season starts Feb. 18.

I also enjoyed Modern Love, Fleabag, Catastrophe, Succession - and 8 seasons of Game of Thrones.

We just enjoyed "The Tender Bar", George Clooney's 2021 production. (Reviewed in the current New Yorker.) We've watched the first half of "Herself" and will finish the last half now at our daily Teatime Matinee.

I never find anything new on Netflix, but then, we've watched a LOT of movies and series!

Another vote for Catastrophe- the last season and the ending were inevitable but lots of fun and entertainment along the way. The Tunnel, seven seasons of Bosch (and a new spinoff coming up soon), The Man in the High Castle, Rick Steve's Europe (for those who like to travel but haven't lately), Reacher (new production, coming in a few weeks), so many great movies (Coen Bros' Fargo and The Big Lebowski come to mind as examples), and many others.
