That’s gorgeous, Allison. Where is the ocean in relation to this?

This was a few days ago, from my back patio. The pinks/purples were so vivid! Taken with my iPad, too, which usually doesn’t capture color well.

DH made coffee and buttermilk pancakes! yum. I decorated with yogurt and my homemade lemon curd… looks like sunnyside up eggs 😂

This was Jan 9th at 7:20 in the morning - I don't recall ever seeing the sky with such an abrupt line between clouds and clear.

It's gray here in the morning. Here is our driveway view from a kitchen window, it's pretty much the same all winter.

Gorgeous colors, Jinx. That side of the house faces east/southeast.. The beach is one block to the right in the photo. So we get great sunrise moments. We can also see the sunsets from the great room/pool side of the house. If it is spectacular, we can go to the third floor and look out either end of the house to see the sun rise or set and take better photos since taken through screened porch aren't great. We can also see the ocean and a dune lake from that floor.

Bunny, we've had many cats, but never one that shredded the TP! Too funny, since it's not my cat.

Now that the sun is up, here is an orchid I brought down from a guest room so I can enjoy. I told DD2 she would have beautiful flowers in her quarters if she were here. Will be even prettier when the other two stems of blooms open.

I’ve never seen an orchid with those colors, stunning! I wish I could grow them like you do!

This is just one of many reasons I am SO OVER winter in New York!

I am a little late for sunrise. Looking South on my deck, toward the coast, it is cloudy. Looking North it is clear.

Allison, it used to be both cats. Now it's just Zephyr and only when he's tried everything else to make me get up. It doesn't even matter that there's food in his dish. Sometimes it's important to him that his mom gets out of bed at 5:30 a.m. If I'm thinking ahead of time, I will remove the roll from the holder before going to bed.

ETA: These photos were not taken this morning. But they could have been.

Snow farther up on our mountain, but only frost here this morning.

Sunrise isn't for another 45 minutes so it's still dark. But I can hear the rain.

It's not just cats my friends. :) This is not my puppy nor my bathroom, but I saved it because it captures the essence of Westies (which are my breed of choice). Look how proud the puppy is of his work!

Patrice, your blown snow is so perfect it looks like one of those fake snow blankets they use in Hallmark movies.

I live on top of a hill without a lot of a wind break. Those sliders form that mountainous pattern every time we get snow and then it gets windy. I don't use those doors in the winter....for obvious reasons. If you do slide the door open, all that snow falls in on you. Good times!

Sueb20, permanent wink. When Ellie lost her first eye, DH teased we should get her a pirate patch. I vetoed that idea!

Allison, my oldest son bought her a pirate patch last Christmas, haha. She refused to wear it.

Sigh, our house faces North and has windowed living spaces on the south side, but I don't have a view of sunrise and sunset, just a hint of pink sky. I love staying at my parents'house getting ready to empty it, just so I can watch the sunset across the field.

Sounds wonderful, bpath. I like hearing the birds wake up.

Allison, I especially enjoy seeing the deer come by in the late afternoon. We have deer at home, too, but a smaller yard, and woods where they can easily disappear, and not much green close to the house that they graze on.
