Comments (151)Worst movie experience was just lately. Ed and I got to the movie theater on time (which is a small miracle for us). We buy snacks and then hand the usher our tickets and he directs us to the theater that ours is playing in. We sit there for 20 minutes of commercials and I am getting antsy because the movie should have started by now. Then there is some more trivia junk playing for 10 more minutes, finally I got mad and walked out to the usher. I complained and he just looks at me kind of stupidly and tells me I can get a refund if I like. I tell him that is not the point. Some of us pay babysitters to go out and expect to only be gone so long! I call home, tell the sitter we will be later than I thought and go back in to the movie. After another 15 minutes of trailers the movie started... It turned out that the little doofus directed us to the wrong theater that was playing the same movie at a later time. D'OH! Comments (9)Mcmann she only has two real friends in the world. Myself and the guy who lives out of state. He calls me and I call him and we work on her. Sometimes it feels like we are doing good cop/bad cop. Azzalea I have already broached the attorney idea. Her son had one so I suggested she talk to him about his experience with the system. She will be seeing her DS today or tomorrow. Hopefully she will follow through. Alot of her problem is her pride which leads to hiding her disability and secrecy. I had a serious heart to heart with her the other night. I told her as much as I understood it hurt her pride it was very important to start showing her weaknesses instead of her strengths in order to have any chance of getting the services she so badly needs or will need in the near future. I also focused on telling her that now was the time to accept help from those who care about her while she still can make informed choices. I told her she had to stop hiding and learn to trust the people who have her best interests at heart and quit being so gullible to smiles and a friendly demeanor from those who don't really give a rat's patootie. Comments (25)Sure enough...everytime I post something on Craigslist, or even randomly, I get those stupid things....not the deaf mother, but the scammers.... I sold Sarah Coventry in the late '70's..I rec'd a letter in the mail saying that this man had got my name and wanted to order, could I send him a book. I thought sure..yeah...never see that again...he was in a larger town 25 mi. away... I actually got a rather large And I thought I had wasted a sales catalog.... Comments (14)I feel for the hurt in your heart from the losing of your friend. It is hurtful to lose one who has become a dear friend. As well as one whom one has chosen as a special loved one, as one's second mate, and late in life. I expect that while building a relationship with another partner so late in life, there would be somewhat less connection, or lower commitment, as one would be certain that the relationship was going to be, of necessity, not a long-lived one. Aware that when one loves deeply ... the hurt is deeper when the loved one goes? Would that make one skittish about making too deep a commitment ... and, when we choose to do so, does it cut us off from the opportunity to participate in some of the greater joys in life?
