So what is the most memorable movie you have ever seen?
Comments (49)As some of you have noted, "memorable" doesn't always mean "best." I usually avoid movies that are scary or depressing (life is hard enough!), but one of my most memorable was very depressing: The Pledge, with Jack Nicholson. It was very well done, but I wish I didn't remember so much about that movie! On the complete opposite end of the spectrum, I will always remember the blues club scene from Adventures in Babysitting. Elisabeth Shue and crew can't leave the place until they sing the blues. So funny! Million Dollar Baby stayed with me for a long time. And I will never forget any part of the original An Affair to Remember. Ah, Cary Grant!...See MoreHave you ever seen a marble rangehood?
Comments (86)You probably don’t need a steel frame. It should only be required if there is a concern about the load on the joist, so maybe if the hood sets under a bathtub or something. Quartzite is just not that heavy, it only seems heavy because it is rather thin. 2cm thick quartzite is about 12 lbs per square foot, which is really nothing significant. A wall cabinet with a typical load of plates and bowls will easily be more than that much and these days that is 1/2” plywood held to the wall with two to four #10 cabinet screws. A 36” stone hood in a room with 9’ ceilings is going to be about 312 lbs of stone… The shear rating of one 3/8” bolt is more than double that and I assure you, more than one will be used. The only real complication is the attachment of the frame to the joists or studs and that is going to require bolts in shear....See MoreHave you ever seen the little 'ol ladies who......
Comments (31)You've all got me laughing this morning! I am getting ready to go shopping because after one full day of carrying that purse around.....I don't want to wait for the mail to deliver me anything! Keep your fingers crossed that I find one or two perfect bags! I plan to look for a fanny pack first as I wear pants almost all the time. My doctor told me that with the chemo that I'm taking now, that I can forget about the side effects that are normally associated with chemo. I probably won't have any of them. After surgery I will be taking a stronger chemo and might have some other side effects, but he has never mentioned hair loss. But my life is more important than my hair and I might get lucky and have body in my new hair if that happens!! *S* Hmmm, I think I would rather be Sophia than Her Royal Highness! LOL...See MoreHave you ever seen a sconce like this?
