Hi Patrick, I'd need to see a photo of the house and its brick to make a guess. But no way would I just pick colors from someone over the Internet and paint while she's gone. Once you get some ideas, upload a photo of your house to a free color visualizer (benjamin moore has a decent one that's fairly easy to use), outline the relevant sections, and try some different color combos. Be aware, the way colors look on a monitor is not accurate to real life. It gives a rough idea, but that's all. Based on the mockup you prefer, go get actual paint samples and try them on a big section of the house.

Do you want the garage door to stand out or blend in? I vote to paint the body of the house one color including the green bumpout. And then paint the garage door to blend in. That way the focal point in the front porch and front door where it should be. Yes, @littlebug zone 5 Missouri cedar garage doors are beautiful but...OP already bought a door that is not cedar. You can't paint a door to look like stained cedar. FWIW, if you're considering a cedar door for your home, ask around about maintenance. I wanted a cedar garage door (recommended by my architect) and nobody in the garage door biz would recommend it (not the three different garage door salesmen; not my GC's house painter; not the guy at the paint/stain store, etc) Way too much maintenance. Sigh...

Your house looks good. Very nice landscaping, too. Lighting around house and on grounds would be nice enhancements, if you need to add there. Remember that once it’s painted or stained, there’s no going back. Your house is beautiful and unique. As for making it “more modern,” it’s plenty modern as is! Was it designed by an architect? If I were you, I’d find out the history of the house just in case it was designed by someone notable in your area. If so, you would devalue it by making such a significant alteration to the architect’s design and vision. I am always of the opinion that if something is real, quality wood (as opposed to something like replaceable veneered plywood), then it’s worth letting the wood be wood. Refinishing it, rather than painting it, would bring out the beauty of the cedar. There are good products available nowadays for refinishing exterior wood. If the white is cement (and not stucco) then you would be painting a surface that is rarely seen in houses (white cement – which adds to the modern character of the house). The white contrasting with the wood emphasizes the angular design. Painting the cement gray will just make it plain old gray cement. I could go on and on, but I think you get my point. You have a unique house, with an interesting and attractive design – if you refinish the wood in its natural state, it will be even more stunning.
