Paint Design Dilemma

What color should I paint my aluminum siding?

Hello. I want to paint the white siding of the house, as seen in the pictures, for my wife while she is away. She hates the white. I'm handy but not good at picking colors. The white is fine to me lmao. Anyways I'm wondering what color paint would look good with the color brick. Thank you in advance.

Hi Patrick, I'd need to see a photo of the house and its brick to make a guess. But no way would I just pick colors from someone over the Internet and paint while she's gone. Once you get some ideas, upload a photo of your house to a free color visualizer (benjamin moore has a decent one that's fairly easy to use), outline the relevant sections, and try some different color combos. Be aware, the way colors look on a monitor is not accurate to real life. It gives a rough idea, but that's all. Based on the mockup you prefer, go get actual paint samples and try them on a big section of the house.

Paint the red area either the same color as the lower portion, if you can match it. If not, paint the ENTIRE house one color of your choice. Suggest keeping it a neutral color and not dark tone, tans or mid to light grays. I would also remove all of the steps in the front lawn and direct walkway to the driveway as is the one path. In that way, you could add lawn to the front and also some nice landscaping that would include shrubs. Paint the front door a brighter color like a good solid red. I would also paint the garage door the same color as the body of the house.

Like the pergola over the garage door idea. If built to be sturdy enough to walk on it, then it could serve as a fire escape route should the need ever arise -- certainly hope it never does. You might also consider painting your step rails and side supports the same color as your siding unless you're planning to have a wood finish door and/or a rustic porch and post addition over the entry at a later date, in which case you'd want those additions to have the same wood finish.
