Making your own superfine sugar?

I couldn't find it in the store. I read you can put it through a food processor, but I don't know how MUCH processing, since I've never seen it, and don't know how fine it's supposed to look.

It's for a recipe from America's Test Kitchen, that specifically says to use it and no other sugar. It's a version of a cookie my family has make for decades, "Pecan Dreams", but which I'm suddenly having problems with, the last 5 years. But it's my son's favorite cookie, so I really need to include this one in his Christmas cookies.

The ATK book describes having the exact same problems with it that I have been having (the cookie falling apart), and what they did to tweak it. The superfine sugar is part of that.

So - how do I tell how fine it should get?

Thanks!
