Best Deal You've Ever Gotten For a Plant?
Comments (42)All of these are great deals! But I may have gotten the deal of a lifetime. Last year after Christmas I was in a big box store when several TC caught my eye. Of course I was hoping for an after Christmas deal and I found one. I brought a plant over to the cashier and asked the price. Her voice and face shower great surprise "2 cents!" There were 8", 6", and 4" pots. I'm not going to tell you how many I bought for my 56 cents! Talk about a problem trying to sneak them into the house without DH catching on. They are beginning to bloom again now. Karen...See MoreBuying a new mattress....is harder then buying a new car
Comments (53)I did purchase my new King mattress from the same local manufacturer that made my custom rv mattress. I love this company, I was able to tell him exactly how I wanted it to feel on top and how much support and firmness for the core. I did get the individual covered separate coils for less movement and the bamboo top fabric because I sleep hot and the bamboo fabric is great for me. It has the euro top instead of the pillow top the old one had. It is just beautiful too. I really debated if I should get a latex layer in the top, ended up not getting it, but if I was doing it again it would be worth the extra money. I love my latex pillows so much I think I would like the latex layer. I absolutely did not want any type of memory foam I can't stand it. I do have the option to let him take it back and add the latex layer still. Another great thing about this place! I have recommended them to several of our friends, especially those with an rv. And the prices are fantastic. So far I have not had any back pain like I was having from the old one. Super comfortable and extremely supportive. I especially wanted the heavy solid foam sides which will support you sitting on the edge or pushing on it getting up and out. I am a side sleeper and I tend to sleep on the edge of the bed, it supports me completely. I could jump on my side and never move my husband's side. The only thing that I wish was different is how much higher this one is. Thank goodness my sheets still fit. I have no idea if they ship out or not but I know they deliver all around the Houston area....See MoreIs your retired'significant other' harder to live with now?
Comments (27)I love the box idea. Must get one soon. DH of 26 years leaves things everywhere. Right now there's a coffee mug on the bedroom nightstand, socks on the chair, newspapers in two locations, TV and computer parts still in boxes in the dining room. I will get that big box, pick up and place everything in it. Then just wait for him to ask "where's the TV satellite tuner that came the other day?" In the box, darling. When we were first married, he'd get home from work and remove and toss his clothing as he walked in and up towards the bedroom. There would be a tie in the living room, shirt on a chair, undershirt in the bathroom, shoes and socks in four different spots. And, being a good little wifey, I would gather everything, launder as needed, then place in the closet or drawer where it came from. He didn't seem to notice, but he did expect the maid service to continue. After a while, I was exhausted from taking care of him AND two kids AND working 52 hours a week. So instead of picking up after him, I went thru the house and stuffed all his clothes under the bed. After about a week, he ran out of socks and underwear. He asked me if I had seen his stuff. Look undewr the bed, dear. That cured him, at least partially. From then on, he'd put all his clothes on one chair. (I tried a hamper,it was too much effort to lift the lid,I guess.) But at least the mess was confined. And when I did laundry all I had to do was take everything off the chair. Now I must get a BIG BOX....See MoreDo I take the high road? It's getting harder...
Comments (13)Imani, I really feel like you need to back away and REALLY thoroughly assess what your personal goals are. From reading your posts I get the distinct feeling that you haven't taken that cold, ultra realistic look at your fiance and his children that you definitely need to. At 24 years of age, there is NO WAY that I think any woman is prepared to be a stepmother--let alone to three children. I know that I certainly wasn't--even at 30 when I became a stepmother I wasn't prepared. It is BY FAR the most difficult thing I have ever done, and I have two wonderful children who like me too--genuinely good kids. This feeling is totally illustrated in your above post. I do think that asking three young children to be quiet in the morning is asking a lot. They're very young. Yes, they need boundries, but they also need to expend that energy that they have in the mornings. You just can't stick a heel on their heads. You refuse to get up at 6 a.m. You fiance does. It's his JOB to get up with them. Being tired is all a part of it. Gonna happen. Too bad. (BTW, if someone told me that they refuse to do something, I'd toss 'em on their ear.) Those kids are interrupting your sleep? Too bad. You seem to want to be a stepmother when it's convenient--as long as the kids behave and don't interrupt your sleep. Honestly, it makes me laugh. ...and what's with this whole not eating until 9 or 10? My kids would be whining and miserable if they had to wait 3 or 4 hours after they got up to eat. Based upon this post, I don't see you as anywhere near ready to take on the RESPONSIBILITY of stepparenting. You're already complaining about stuff, and you haven't even started.......See MoreLars
