Please help needed for small small master bedroom
Comments (18)I was really glad to see the upholstered bed in the second bed option, cause as I was looking at the room pics & sketch, that what I had in mind IMMEDIATELY. I LOVE that room (LOVE small spaces) & here's my suggestions: 1. Upholstered bed in natural linen. 2. Closet wall & crown moulding in SW Westhighland White. Walls & ceiling in Canvas Tan (flat) 3. Bedding in a soft color...no pattern. Pattern will only make the room smaller. 4. An upholstered bench at the end of the bed in the same linen as the bed with perhaps contrast welt in the color of the bedding. Ebony legs. (Check out Bassett Furniture for both the bed & the bench as an alternative to where you're looking) 5. Ditch the globe pic. Whatever goes over the bed needs to be a simple stretched canvas in soft colors, or sepia tones. 6. I vote for simple bamboo or burlap roman shades inset on the windows. 7. Think more about texture than color & pattern in this room. 8. Consider these for over the nightstands to save all table space. (Nightstands should be light in feeling but of course functional). ~Jeana Here is a link that might be useful: Nightstand lights...See MoreLarge & awkward master bedroom needs TLC, new furniture and lay-out
Comments (9)The first thing I notice is the almost total lack of color in your bedroom. It also lacks curtains, and there is very little softness, and a lot of dark and angular furniture. In the inspiration room that Beverly shows there is a definite and very cohesive color scheme, and much more softness to the bedding, and some strong and definite pattern. You might consider buying an area rug you love and taking color and pattern inspirations from that. The art in your room is too small and timid, and I would look for much larger and more colorful art to bring life to this room. A large easy chair in front of the window in a beautiful color and some decorative pillows could also become part of your color scheme. A very spare and modern aesthetic may not give you the warm and cozy vibe you say you're looking for. It might be better to wait until you've bought the furniture you want before asking for advice since I gather everything in the room will be different. The orientation of the bed looks good to me in relation to everything else, including where the door is....See MoreSeeking advice. I can’t fit furniture in my small master bedroom.
Comments (5)I would suggest that your bed have a headboard, but no footboard, as that will really shrink the room. Perhaps with storage drawers beneath. Maybe you could post some furniture that you've considered but rejected?...See MoreUnique Master Bedroom Layout (furniture arrangement ideas needed)
Comments (3)oh, ok. perfect. if there is room there, it would work. you'll have plenty of room for a rug, and a nice bench at the foot of the bed. maybe a few chairs, potted plants over by the window. The tall wall is also a perfect spot for some type of accenting this would be cute in the inset area: I'd do something like this. the blacks/whites/charcoal/leather tones, walnut, would all look nice w/the flooring. love the rug/bench too Inside the large niche, think about doing a built in piece with shelving,, or find a console to span that length. All sorts of ideas for the inset! If you did a built in dresser there, you wouldn't need another piece. tv goes on a swivel mount I'd really make a point of doing somethign special w/the inset spot. you could find a vintage credenza and use that, if there is room on the side, do some cubbies or something like this...See Morejoseph b
