Window Woes somethings wrong with the way window came in or am I
Comments (4)Thanks I have been and they sending someone out from windowrama to fix the screen and see why it won't close with the latches in place. If the window was made wrong then a trimline rep will come out. Maybe that is how they come but why did every window I was shown look like the picture below more or less? If I was getting something different then the display model I should have been told. I asked " will my window look like this one from the outside?" We were told yes. If trim was available no problem but I was on the phone with the trimline rep who said they don't make trim to fit in that channel he said that installaters bend aluminum or get vinyl trim and rip it to fit in. I told the salesman before I ordered that my window was already capped and I didn't want to have to bend aluminum trim. this is what I expected and what was in the showroom more or less: I'm getting really frustrated now...See MoreWindow Woes somethings wrong with the way window came in or am I
Comments (7)Angie, Thank you so much for looking that up for me! Its good to know its not just me. The trimline company rep said the install looked pretty good A windowrama tech is coming out to check the hooks and if it was made wrong then a trimline tech will be sent out - but trimline doesn't make the trim it seems and the windowrama salesman is claiming he never told me it would look like the samples on display - which he did when I asked and even if he didn't shouldn't the sales staff let the customers know they are getting something different from the display model? I am getting really frustrated now!...See MoreMy KD came in at $180,000 when he knew my max was $150,000
Comments (146)Tali, I wanted to say (I'm not sure if I did) that in my remodel I actually went with the KD because the plans were "all done" and then...the cabinets came, and they SUCKED!!! And I can't stress that enough. So many people said "make them work" and I realized how stupid that was :) And started over again. I'm going to have a stunning kitchen, with every bell and whistle, and very very high quality cabinets, and all for around your budget. I'd love to hear that you see someone else and get everything you want, including the special stains, legs, etc. I have every bell and whistle involved, including inset doors (a big upcharge) and I'm using a very high quality cabinet company, Omega Custom, which I'd recommend you look at. They do everything custom (they have lower end lines as well, you can find them on line) but one of the things I love is that the inside stains match the outside, which I really think makes a difference in a high end design (I hate to open a cabinet and see another color or thermafoil). I'm spending about $70M for two bathrooms and a kitchen. I also was able to work in a Lacanche (look at those as well as the one you like because...they're cooler heh heh) and all of the options you are doing away with because of this designer. My tile backsplash...egads have you read the freaking complaining about it???? I'm pushing $70 a sq ft! So I know you can get everything everything everything!!!! you want if you keep searching. I only mention the costs and pushing the issue because, personally I don't care about how much I spend on the kitchen, it's my kitchen and I want what I want. I might not get it all back but I don't care, I want what I want :) But for the kind of money you're willing to spend, if I were to hear that budget for a kitchen, I'd expect to see all of the bells and whistles, including that warming drawer and subzero...(buy the Lacanche and you won't need a warming drawer...they're included) Heh heh Anyhoo, I know how you feel right now, because I've been there, and it totally sucks! But I'd rather see you take that dream design elsewhere and look to other cabinets of very high quality (that's important, I understand) but get all of the goodies as well (pot filler, etc). You can afford that under your budget :) So keep working, and when this is all done, you can enjoy that dream kitchen :) Which you will deserve after this hell is over LOL...See MoreShould I download Windows 10 on my computer?
Comments (42)'You should maybe slow down in continuing to give advice about things you don't seem to know much about.' Excuse me? Maybe you should stop telling people not to post on the internet, especially when you seem to be grossly uninformed on the nature of infections and what hackers' intents are in trying to get onto computers. 'The likelihood of sustaining a credit card loss, inconvenience, or identity theft solely from online financial and banking activity from home is very, very, very low. ' Who said anything about 'solely from online financial/banking activity?' You. Nevertheless, our business is big cybercriminal business. That aside, viruses and hackers are most definitely after credit card information and such. What else do you think they are after? Just like to follow us around to see what we are up to? There is an entire industry and force of non-profit vigilantes focused on combating hackers and malware. Cyber criminals are after our personal information. It's a fact, not an infrequent occurrence or minor nuisance. It is big business. Read up before you pose as an authority. 'From what I've read, the risks that do exist have almost nothing to do with custom apps that many use or vulnerabilities in browser software exploited by bad guys in other ways and for other purposes.' What does this even mean? Custom apps? We are talking about updating Windows. I mentioned there are security issues around not keeping Windows updated - rather than it simply being a marketing ploy encouraging people to upgrade. If you are doing transactions online, it is prudent to keep your software updated. You can also lose personal photos and files to ransom ware these days if you don't back them up. Browser vulnerabilities are not an issue? Really?? Please, do let companies like Google, Norton, ESET, Bleeping Computer and all the other companies know that it's not an issue. They are wasting an enormous amount of time, money and other resources combating cybercriminals. Good grief. I don't even understand what your argument is. I'm not sure you do either....See MoreUser
