Rug suggestions to go with these curtains?
Comments (37)Thank you all!! I think these curtains make me five shades of happy. : ) I'm glad you like them and think that they work well with our couch, lamp, and artwork. I can hardly wait to get some beadboard wallpaper up and fix that silly ceiling (air mail!). DH is planning to vault the ceiling and then we want to plank it. Soon... I don't know my3dogs, you have quite the prowess with bargain hunting yourself. I remember some pretty neat lamps and rugs you've found. And those island legs from a bed frame were quite clever. ; ) Aw, you sure can, Ida Claire. Do you have any links to your old house? I'd love to see it. I remember seeing the kitchen recently and I'd enjoy seeing more. Cottage style is my favorite. I have to be careful because I can swing more formal and traditional, but it's not what makes me the most comfortable. Boopadoo, maybe someone else can do the remembering for you. I don't recall seeing that dining room, but sure would like to see it. Just to confirm: Does the green rug really need to leave? It's ok if it does, I can use it elsewhere. But, I want to be absolutely sure before I go about buying another one....See MoreLamp and curtains?
Comments (9)Probably too late to say this, but those night stands are wide for that space. I have white shutters in my window over the bed and a sheer, lacy curtain over it that is no longer than the window. However, my headboard is quite a bit below the window. I agree to more colorful bedding and lamps with a ceramic base that pick up one of the colors of the bedding or perhaps a Chinese-type blue and white decoration. The grey walls make the room look depressing without other colors in the room. I'd suggest fairly large colorful paintings and a colorful rug if you have wood flooring. If you like the minimalist look then ignore the color part, and choose lamps with a clear glass base, but make sure the lamps are tall enough to make an impact. You still need wall art of some kind....See MoreSuggestions for curtain colors?
Comments (12)Gosh, those are pretty! (OP's yellow ones) I remember eyeing them when I was looking for curtains in our family room. Not sure if they would go in your room with your rug. If returns were easy, I'd be tempted to try them but honestly, I think havingfun's first option is pretty perfect. Yours are really nice as well, Rachel! Might look great in Kate's living room....See MoreDecorating help.......rug/shades/curtains
Comments (17)Yes, there is baseboard heating there where the curtain would go. Hate it-but some of the runs are from when there was electric heat, some converted to the hot water heat. We have been toying with adding a mini split in which case it would not matter. My thoughts were that it really doesn’t matter if its covered up-at least for the moment.......??...See Morerfharmon
